@PeacemakingSt Thank you for sharing this. I was unaware of this film, and so I looked it up in YouTube and watched it with my daughters. It was a poignant and touching film. https://t.co/4XGF0iZJ7g
@DerekjAndersen Itβs such a beautiful temple. I still wonder, how does the gardener trend the garden in the center without tracking dirt through the temple? And how do you get that calling?
@defense_of_fam Each of us are at different points in our spiritual journey. We will never be perfect in following all commandments. If we are doing our best to follow the prophet, the Lord will continue to teach and guide us. The Lord, in His mercy, will lead us back to His presence.
@EricCMeadows It's a real test of faith when you're assigned to a building 20 minutes away even though there's a different building that's only three minutes away. I think that qualifies as an Abrahamic trial. π
@defense_of_fam I can imagine no better proof that our prophets do see around corners. Kids today may not understand or appreciate that when this was given, this was NBD because it was non-controversial then, but now, the world absolutely reviles it despite every prophesy and warning coming true
@DerekjAndersen If it was just the teachers, there's still a chance at inculcating our kids against false doctrine, but it is the entire student body that is steeped in anti-Christian, anti-Western philosophy. My kids are ostracized by the whole school for their traditional Christian beliefs.
@TrentKingston It's also possible that six weeks earlier was too early to find it and the delay was actually a blessing to finding it early. Don't guilt yourself on something that deserves no guilt. Focus instead on Christ and building your family's faith in His plan and finding comfort in Him.
@defense_of_fam Joining the church can create conflict inside families that are opposed to the church. But just like scuffing is necessary to glue two things together, the gospel that creates that initial friction can often become the adhesive that seals them together forever.
@latterdaylaura Natural man is the language of someone humble enough to look to Jesus to change. Authentic self is the language of the prideful person that has no interest in changing.
This quote at the end of the movie π₯
"I will never get over being thankful to them; I hope you never get over being thankful to them. I hope that we will always remember them. Let us read again and again, and read to our children or our childrenβs children, the accounts of those who suffered so much."
- Gordon B. Hinckley

@defense_of_fam There is a correlation between YW first marriage age and YW attrition rate. I think it's causal. When YM and YW focus on the important things in life (spouse and kids) rather than the mundane (career), their focus on faith increases because they elevate their celestial thinking.
@Here_s_Hoping Fast Offerings are a great way to help people. 100% goes to helping individuals in your area, no overhead or admin costs. It's not a hand out. It fosters dignity, not dependence. The ward council works with recipients to make changes to help them back to financial independence.
@Here_s_Hoping My dad was fond of saying is "Life is not fair... Then you die." He usually would say it humorously, but it's a profoundly true statement. If we bemoan unfairness, we make ourselves a victim and our progress stops. If we overcome unfairness, we make ourselves victor and progress.
@Here_s_Hoping Our God is a God of fairness and equality. Be humble enough to let the Spirit teach and guide us with an eternal perspective on how we can be an instrument in helping, loving and lifting one another to establish Eternal Fairness and Equity. Don't let our pride rob us Eternal joy.
@JS9511606021086 I am ok labeling our LDS theology as henotheism, the worship of a single primary deity while acknowledging or accepting the actual existence of other gods.
@ITalkOfChrist God wants a relationship with us. Communication is the key to a relationship. The Book of Mormon came to us the way it did to cause each of us to inquire of God. Likewise, He puts questions and stumbling blocks in our path so that we will commune with Him in prayer and in spirit.
@TeeplesCY Here in California, the suppression of Judeo-Christian religion in school is not soft. It is expressly prohibited and denigrated. Whereas Islam and atheism are indoctrinated unceasingly. On the plus side, the discrimination is so blatant that the kids can recognize the unfairness
@Ch_JesusChrist It will be fun to announce combined activities. The deacons will join with Faith. The teachers will meet with Hope. The priests will have an activity with Light.
