@badomenscult please please address the genocide in gaza, now is not the time to be silent. even if jolly can't directly comment on it due to him having a visa, we would really like to know where you guys stand on this matter because it is incredibly serious.
whether or not jolly intended to repost what he did, he wouldn't be able to publicly address it anyway. free speech isn't something that is guaranteed anymore, ESPECIALLY for those living in the united states with a visa. people have had their visas revoked for speaking out.
@Ging3y93@badomenscult i think specter was amazing, there was depth— i really, really don't like impose. i genuinely feel like it is their worst song yet and i hate how harsh that sounds because i love bad omens with all my heart.
@itsdeaann You're so weak.
I get not celebrating his death, but Charlie Kirk was a hideously evil human being.
Being sad at his death is truly pathetic on your part.
Dean, let me be clear. I understand your instinct for sympathy and your aversion to celebrating any death. As a Black man, however, my reality is shaped by witnessing figures like Charlie Kirk consistently spew hateful rhetoric to a white audience, rhetoric that is then weaponized against my community.
You, as a white man, may feel a abstract sympathy for him. I feel the very real, tangible danger his words incite. People who listen to him are moved to anger and violence against people who look like me.
To use a historical parallel: would you expect enslaved people to mourn the slaveowners who whipped them and hanged their families? While the mechanisms are different, the dehumanizing rhetoric that leads to harm is the same.
You say you can't support us if we wish death upon white supremacists. That is a privilege of your distance from the violence they inspire. For you, it's a philosophical debate. For us, it's about survival.
If your support for my community is contingent on us showing grace to those who wish us harm, then that was never true support to begin with.
@Eugenia_Cooney i hope you choose yourself and healing, i really, truly do. you've done it before and you can do it again. we don't want to see you lose to this, think about all the good you can do, all the light and love you can give, all the hope you can give people. pleade. choose you.
@shanhedonia@suffocatevoodoo i've been in this scene my entire life, and sometimes i also get annoyed at the crowd surfers. it can get excessive, we're allowed to feel that way. we're not trying to change how people have fun, i'm not saying i want that part of the culture to go away, sometimes its upsetting
