It's still a story told within the GoW-universe and a *BIG* one at that, obviously, but it's not THE NEXT GOD OF WAR, as you can tell by the design of the title card

It won't possibly advance the main story arc, it fleshes out her backstory

She doesn't look like a Disney princess, because in the story she wakes up from being dead. She's in the Realm of the dead, she died.

And they do make a separate game from the mainline story. It's just part of the GoW lore, so it carries that moniker for you to find it.

@dennydakvito @TheRealRastov It's a test bed to gauge how big a budget Santa Monica is going to get to make a new mainline title, because developing video games has become massively expensive.

Make no mistake, this is a spin off. It is to gauge interest for a new GoW. And it... just doesn't look all bad.
