@konno_donnoi Any advice with freelancing? I tried the Upwork route again recently but it seems too competitive with the bots and whatnot. Not overly thrilled with X tbh lol, seems like 95% of posts are engagement bait not actually designed for conversation. I just gotta find the right people!

@dominikkoch I don’t think CTOs are supposed to be programming. GitHub is not what’s going to be important over organizational leadership with technical background. I worked at a company with a CTO who would write entire apps over the weekend and merge it himself. Insufferable and messy.

@JohnGreenDev Love that! That’s where many of teams fall short. They expect the magic to happen without intervention. If the only opportunities to socialize are in meetings with an agenda, it feels forced and we all just want to get thru the meeting. But social opportunities with intent works

@JohnGreenDev I think it’s just one of those things that’s highly subjective depending on an individuals experience with their team members. If my team was more social and collaborative in person I probably wouldn’t mind being in the office as much. Everyone seems to keep to themselves though.

@JohnGreenDev I feel like this only works for offices where your whole team is in the same office. The company I work for, only 2/12 of my coworkers work in my office location and when we do collaborate it’s STILL over Teams even though they sit right behind me.

Anyone on here get into freelancing? Tips for someone just starting? I’ve worked as a software engineer for 7 years, just looking to do some work on the side.

I’ve done a few Upwork contracts, but nothing crazy! Looking to do more

@Shra_va_ni I would never spend 20k on a domain unless that amount was funny money to the income my business generates. Io and ai should only be utilized for tech heavy companies, i would either tweak or use a completely different domain

@jiya_3063 Because it’s backend code and non-visual. To “vibe code” in Java you’d actually have to understand technical infrastructure to some degree. Aren’t people who vibe code usually trying to build a frontend focused product or service? To them, the backend is of little importance

@SakshiSugandhi For AI I find that GUI has more tools and I tend to utilize as many as possible depending on my workflow. For frontend work I’m often using attachments to convey visual issues or explanations, but cannot do this with cli

@HAliPunjabi After setting up and running the plex server I see now it seems to be a pretty heavy duty server. It uses 100% of all cores while OC and still can’t stream without buffering. I also see the heat you’re talking about as well. Super impressed with the UI over Kodi though
