@pikuma Similarly, I've seen people assume a certain text (like a reddit comment) was made with AI just because it used em dashes or proper grammar. These things existed long before 2020. It's almost like you must now dumb everything down if you don't want to be accused of being a bot.
@pikuma I've been rewriting the code for the software renderer course in p5js and I couldn't imagine doing something like this with AI in order to skip the "boring" parts. Doing everything by hand has actually helped me grasp a few things I hadn't before.
@lauriewired@1thousandfaces_ They tend to recommend this book in different groups or sites online. They say it's fantasy, speculative fiction or even horror. The mixture of genres itself makes me want to give it a try haha.
@pikuma Then again, it does not mean you shouldn't test properly before shipping but doing code review before can help find you might miss. It's happened to me.
@XorDev@zekramu@SebastianLague Yes! A knowledgeable person who knows what he's doing and likes to explain how he did it in a very calm and soothing way.
I must admit I don't understand everything, especially when there's a lot of math involved, but it's still inspiring to watch things evolve.
@pikuma@LenSeaside "imagina um açogueiro cortando carne por esporte"
When I was a kid (so about 30 years ago), I loved going to the butcher with my mother and seeing how they cut meat using these saws.
I always thought it must be fun to do that. Now I'd be worried about losing my fingers haha.

This isn't uncommon where I live. It's incredibly annoying.
I fully agree with the noise problem. Loud music late at night even during the week is by far the worst issue, in my case.
@pikuma I remember playing with Doctor B. He'd randomly lie down on the floor and I could never make him get up. (Given his age, I now wonder if that was an analogy about something else not getting up haha.)
I did find the farting dinosaur hilarious, though.
@pikuma I was actually thinking about it recently. It'd be nice to make brands hate you so much they pay you enough to make a living out of not using their products haha.
@pikuma You reminded me of this: https://t.co/7HLVUiufmG
Long story short: Lacoste paid them to not use their products. They're the opposite of what the brand wants to represent, I guess.
@pikuma By the way, I read that Minix OS was made by Andrew Tanenbamum and the book Operating System Concepts came to my mind. I always remember it because of the dinosaurs on the cover haha.
Then I remembered that wasn't by Tanenbamum but his have angry people!
