Dearest Aloka,
The world sees a symbol of peace when it looks at you.
But not long ago, you were just another street dog in India.
The same eyes.
The same heart.
More importantly, the same capacity for love.
Nothing changed about you.
What changed was the way people chose to see you.
We hope your journey helps India see every street dog through the same eyes.

Animals are not ours to use and abuse EVER! 🚫
Is this a sin or a virtue? I don't think making a speechless animal suffer for a religious pilgrimage will yield any reward or make God happy. How will this voiceless creature climb the nearly 18 km of difficult terrain to Kedarnath, with low oxygen, rain, snow, etc., while carrying a 120 kg person? How much pain will it endure?
I would call this hypocrisy, not religion. In the true sense, religion or virtue means not becoming the cause of someone's suffering.

These dogs had names. They were old, vaccinated, and cared for by the people around them.
Yesterday, more than 15 of them were found dead after an alleged poisoning incident in Alappuzha, Kerala.
Ask yourself:
Who poisoned them?
Why hasn't there been swift action?
Why are humane, legal solutions being ignored?
Poisoning animals is a crime, not a policy. It is illegal and not a solution. It is evidence of administrative failure.
We demand justice and accountability!

Respected Supreme Court of India and our Honourable Judges,
Per your recent judgment regarding stray dogs, you referenced Article 19(1)(d) of the Constitution of India, which guarantees every citizen the right to move freely throughout the territory of India. Based on this, orders have been issued to remove dogs from public institutions and private spaces, effectively confining them for life, largely driven by media reports on dog bites.
As a citizen of India, I would like to highlight that the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Program was established precisely to ensure citizen safety under this same constitutional framework.
However, who failed to implement the ABC Program? It was the local authorities and state governments. Whose fault is it, and who should be held accountable and punished?
Every single volunteer and caregiver is deeply concerned about human safety. That is why we dedicate our days and nights without any government assistance to implementing and following the ABC guidelines using our own personal funds. In India, more than 70% of the stray dog population is managed through the initiatives of independent caregivers, not the state governments. If you look at the states that have genuinely implemented the ABC Program, the data is overwhelmingly positive.
Crores of rupees in funding allocated for animal welfare vanish, yet the authorities and state bodies are rarely questioned. NGOs spend immense resources to bring actual data and real-world stories to the courtroom, only to feel unheard. Where are the state-run shelters?
Local authorities have failed to implement the ABC Program for decades.
This failure has divided society into two factions. On one side, citizens suffer from dog bites due to a lack of proper ABC implementation and public awareness. On the other hand, compassionate caregivers face daily harassment despite dedicating their lives to finding humane solutions. Meanwhile, dogs are being illegally relocated, killed, starved, and traumatized due to fear and a lack of systemic awareness yet we still expect them to display positive behavior.
Is this how the custodians of our Constitution operate?
Is this how the system is supposed to work?
If the judiciary does not hold failing authorities accountable, what then is the difference between the state authorities and our Supreme Court?

As an Indian, I am deeply pained to witness the mass killing of Indian community and stray dogs like “Aloka” across villages, towns, and cities in India. @AmitShah@AmitShahOffice@HMOIndia#StopDogCruelty
A pet owner in #Telangana was denied entry into an RTC bus to travel along with his pet. In other countries pets accompany their owners in crowded metros. This is how discriminative our society has become. All thanks to the Supreme Court. You are responsible for creating this divide amongst people!

Cities that cut trees for concrete shouldn’t be surprised when nights stop cooling down. Heatwaves are no longer just daytime disasters, they’re becoming 24/7 public health emergencies, especially for the poor/outdoor workers.
Urban planning is climate policy now!!!

Delhi’s #CentralRidge isn’t a vacant plot to be “greenwashed” with one-size-fits-all plantation model. Ecological restoration isn’t same as dense afforestation. Plantations could alter the Ridge’s natural Aravalli ecosystem, consume excessive water & create parks, not forests.
