I was grateful for the session on KTRS today. It was so informative for we teachers. I needed to see the information. Thank you KEDC for thinking of that! @KEDC1@KEDCGrants@passport2lead
Storytelling in Kentucky was one of my favorites from this week! I cried three times! I can’t wait to do this with my 8th grade ELA students this year. @KEDC1@KEDCGrants@passport2lead
I had not heard of William Wells Brown until yesterday. I plan to read his autobiography this summer. I’d love to have him come perform for my students. @KEDC1@KEDCGrants@passport2lead
Mary Todd Lincoln was so good I felt I had gone back in time and was really at the White House talking with her. She brought me to tears! @KEDC1@KEDCGrants@passport2lead
This KEDC conference has been off the charts this year! I’ve learned so many new strategies and projects to do with my students. The gears in my head are spinning! @KEDCGrants@passport2lead@KEDC1

I enjoyed learning strategies to use in order to prepare my students to have difficult conversations on ‘prickly’ topics. This will help me so much as I plan for next year. @KEDCGrants@passport2lead
The KEDC conference kicked off today and it did not disappoint! I loved the session on rotations and using resources from the Smithsonian and local historical societies. Look at these 3D printed Abe Lincoln hands! They’re huge!

I had my students use the Four Quadrants strategy today. They loved it and it went well! It’s such an engaging, fun, effective strategy! This will be on repeat! @KEDCGrants@passport2lead@s3strategies
Heidi Boles delivered another awesome session on s3strategies. I’m so excited, I’m doing the four quadrant tomorrow because it fits with what I already had planned! Pics coming soon of my history detectives! @KEDCGrants@passport2lead@s3strategies
Heidi Boles did a session with us today on S3 Strategies and I cannot wait to use them in my class. I’m most excited about historical mystery. It’s such a great strategy for inquiry that will get their wheels turning! @KEDCGrants@passport2lead@s3strategies
I appreciate Jeff Davis for his session on structured academic controversy. I love the structure he shared and how we can choose and create our own prompt. My students will really love the ‘yes’ and ‘no’ sides and hashing it out. @KEDCGrants@passport2lead
Update on Diffit…I’m so thankful for the paid membership I have. It has really helped me in planning multimodal stations in my classroom. @KEDCGrants@passport2lead
I had no idea 60 second Civics podcast playlists existed! I’ve been going through them and making a list of those I’m using in class. These will be great for bell ringers, to spark class discussions, etc. @KEDCGrants@passport2lead
I love the ESCAPE framework to help students examine the reliability of media sources. I have been working on jigsaw activities for my students to use this in my next unit! @KEDCGrants@passport2lead
I have really been scouring for primary sources to use with my students. Jeff Davis really gave such great ideas on how to use them! @KEDCGrants@passport2lead
I absolutely love ❤️ using virtual field trips and this morning I was blessed to go to a session where I learned so many more ideas for using them in my classroom! Bring it on! We are going to travel all over the world 🌍! @KEDCGrants@passport2lead
Notebook LM was the Google tool I didn’t know I needed…..until today! I have already been working in it to create a notebook for my medieval Japan unit. Goodness gracious, it’s maybe the best thing since sliced bread!!! @KEDCGrants@passport2lead
