SEAFARERS back home

Three (3) Charter Flights by cruise line land in Goa in last 24 hours. About 900 stranded Seafarers return in last one week by #VandeBharatMission or Charter Flights.
Tomorrow one more flight with 80 Seafarers landing in Mumbai.

It's slow but it's happening.

Time for @shipmin_india to see that Shipping Companies open with 33% staff , Seafarers take Employment & Maritime Training Institutes start working with New procedures.

59 days of Lockdown has killed industry temporarily and if no action taken now , it will be permanent damage.

Timeline:

13 May : @mansukhmandviya announce Charter Flights & #VandeBharatMission 4 Seafarers.

16 May: 2 Companies get permission but Flights can't take off.
Now 11 more companies apply

Doha / Colombo: Emerge Hub Airports.

12 June 2020, crew change expected to be effective.

#VandeBharatMission till now helped 5% of the Stranded Seafarers return India. Rest all waiting.

Charter flights: Many companies still waiting for PERMISSION from @shipmin_india it's not the cost , it's tue PERMISSION which is dampener.
Hope @mansukhmandviya Ji will intervene.

Charter Flight for return of Stranded Seafarers: 1st one will land tomorrow at Goa.

Shipping Companies: struggling for approval for Charter Flights.

For using #VandeBharatMission most of the countries/ Ports need vessel to be in the port when flight lands and again vessel needs to be in the port when flights departs.
It is practically impossible to achieve meeting vessel’s ETA and ETD as per Vande Bharat’s flights.
