@thepixelpicked I honestly think that'd be pretty good. High enough to filter out the slop, but not too low to stop anyone serious from releasing on Steam. But in the end it's gonna be a decision based on economical data for Valve.
Elevation finally matters! It affects line of sight, targeting, and, of course, combat.
You really shouldn't be charging uphill!
As always, work in progress.
Swedes were among the early pioneers of giving uniform clothes to their soldiers.
In this Thirty Years' War illustration you can see the contrast between colored Swedish regiments (the famous Yellow and Blue brigades) and Imperial army that did not have uniforms at the time.
It's interesting how one of the reasons for this early push to have standardized regimental uniforms was because Gustavus Adolphus didn't like peasant conscripts arriving in their farm clothes. Cloth was issued, and regiments had it tailored. This is why some regiments would become known by their specific colors. At the battles of Breitenfeld (1631) and Lützen (1632), Yellow Brigade, Blue Brigade and Green Brigade were present in the Swedish army. There were also Red, Orange and Black brigades raised over the course of the war.
Deep into 17th century it was still common that Swedish regiments would have distinct colors. It was only in 1687 when Charles XI introduced the standardized national uniform (blue with yellow facings), which is now associated with Swedish Empire.
@LandsknechtPike 100%! There was still quite a bit of variation around 1700 though. I've been looking into this for my game, and it would've made my life easier if they'd all just worn blue and yellow :) Majority of regiments did, however.
A day in the life of making a semi-historically accurate game. The Battle of Narva might be the reason I finally get a third monitor.
Work in progress!
Well, the Smoke and Steel trailer has certainly slowed down now. But damn, that was crazy. I'm quite sure I'll never release another video with that many views ever again 😅
