Bankers, do you remember this video from #SBI Una?
When it went viral, most of us thought the same thing:
ЁЯСЙ The Branch Head will be suspended or terminated.
ЁЯСЙ The woman officer will be protected.
ThatтАЩs what any normal, lawful system should do.
But SBI did the exact opposite.
Instead of acting against the accused manager:
тЭМ SBI ignored her sexual harassment complaint
тЭМ SBI did not forward it to the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
тЭМ SBI allowed the same accused Branch Head to control the process
тЭМ SBI treated her complaint email as a тАЬresignationтАЭ
тЭМ And finally, SBI terminated the woman officer under тАЬdeemed resignationтАЭ
Yes, the victim was punished, not the accused.
Most bankers never knew this part.
We assumed justice was done.
It was not.
Today, the truth is out.
The Punjab & Haryana High Court has slammed SBI management for:
тАУ Violating the POSH Act, 2013
тАУ Failing to implement SBIтАЩs own Garima Policy
тАУ Destroying principles of natural justice
The Court has:
тЬФя╕П Cancelled her termination
тЬФя╕П Quashed all biased inquiries
тЬФя╕П Ordered reinstatement with full service continuity and benefits
The Court made it clear:
ЁЯСЙ POSH complaints donтАЩt need тАЬperfect draftingтАЭ
ЁЯСЙ Policies are not for show
ЁЯСЙ Retaliation against women who speak up is illegal
ЁЯСЙ Accused officers must never be allowed to influence proceedings
This case is not just about one branch or one woman.
It is a warning to every banker:
If you speak up, the system may try to crush you unless we stand together.
Now SBI management @TheOfficialSBI must answer:
тЭУ Who decided to punish the complainant?
тЭУ Who protected the accused?
тЭУ Who misused тАЬdeemed resignationтАЭ?
тЭУ What action will be taken against those responsible?
Justice has finally spoken.
Now accountability must follow.
