In Oct 2023, just about an year ago, 28 mentors and 1 officer from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), MSD, Delhi were hosted by the Isha Foundation.

Contrary to claims, people are NOT constantly going missing from the Foundation.

According to the Tamil Nadu Police’s own report, in the last 30 years of the foundation’s functioning, and among over 75 million visitors who have come to the Isha Yoga Center, only 6 cases of missing people have been reported.

Five of the six missing person cases have been closed by the police because the individuals were found safe and well.

There is only one open case of a missing person, which was in fact filed by the Foundation itself. The person, who stepped outside the Isha Yoga Center, was unreachable after a few hours of absence. The Foundation immediately approached the police and informed the family. The Foundation continues to follow up and work with the police and hopes for the individual’s safe return.

The Supreme Court has dismissed the allegations against Isha Foundation and affirmed that the two women monks are at the Foundation of their own free will. The Court also took exception to the Madras High Court passing directions for a police enquiry against #IshaFoundation.

"The case of Isha Foundation was taken up by the Supreme Court today. The case related to a challenge by the father of two ladies aged 39 and 40 years, saying that they were kept in the ashram contrary to their will as if they were captives. The high court had interacted with these two girls and had found that they were living of their own accord. In fact they had taken monkhood as their way of life," says advocate Mukul Rohatgi on Supreme Court closing proceedings.
