@GitRDoneLarry@Ron_White My best memory of the song “You Never Called Me By My Name” was while on deployment we had a port call in Greece and me and my platoon sang that song out loud. Was a great moment.
Peter swore he would never deny Him.
He meant it.
But fear has a way of silencing even the boldest faith.
Three times he denied knowing Jesus.
Three times shame tightened its grip.
And when the rooster crowed… Peter wept.
Failure has a sound.
Shame has a voice.
And Peter carried both.
But Jesus wasn’t finished with him.
After the resurrection, Jesus didn’t confront Peter with anger. He didn’t rehearse his failure.
He cooked breakfast.
Mercy met shame by a fire — the same place Peter once denied Him.
“Do you love Me?”
Not once.
Not twice.
But three times.
Grace erased what shame tried to define.
Peter’s denial was not his ending.
It became his testimony.
And yours can too.
Jesus doesn’t discard broken disciples.
He restores them.
If shame is whispering that you’ve gone too far… hear this clearly:
Mercy is louder.
Prayer:
Jesus,
Meet us where shame still lingers.
Replace regret with grace and failure with restoration.
Help us believe that Your mercy is greater than our mistakes — and that love still calls our name.
Amen.
