Remember when that DoorDash driver recorded a man partially naked on his own couch and accused him of deliberately exposing himself to her?

Well, there’s a lot more to that story.

The driver, Olivia Henderson, posted the video online, where millions of people reportedly saw it.

But when police investigated, they determined the customer, Austin, was unconscious from drinking and had committed no crime.

He was never arrested or charged.

Henderson, on the other hand, was arrested and charged with two felonies related to recording and distributing the video. She has pleaded not guilty.

Here’s what really bothers me.

How many people watched that video and immediately assumed he was some kind of sexual predator? And how many ever bothered to find out what the police investigation revealed?

Think about his family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers seeing those accusations.

I’m a firm believer that real victims deserve justice. But I also believe people who knowingly make false accusations should face serious consequences.

We don’t yet know how her case will end, but one thing is certain.

It takes seconds to destroy someone’s reputation, and sometimes a lifetime isn’t enough to get it back.
