But if you look at the behavior of the White House from this perspective, the questions become even bigger. Intelligence support for Ukraine was disrupted, NATO and EU allies were attacked rhetorically, Putin was praised, and Starshield restrictions complicated Ukrainian operations.

Він провів 10 днів у контактних боях, зачистив 12 ворожих бліндажів, отримав 5 поранень і 9 контузій.

А потім його на плечах 5 км ніс бразилець, щоб врятувати від смерті.

Андрій Іщенко, з позивним "Гром", виріс з піхоти - від командира відділення до заступника комбата.

І коли на Куп'янському напрямку склалася критична ситуація, Гром не вагався. Він зрозумів, що якщо не піде сам - лінію оборони прорвуть.

Разом із ним пішли перекладач Аліна та молодий лейтенант Назаренко, позивний "Карма". А ще - п'ять колумбійців.

Щоб порозумітися з ними, Гром вигадав власну мову: "топі-топі" означало рухатися вперед, "аміго вампір" - команда ховатися від дрона. І вони розуміли його без жодного перекладача.

Спочатку їх було 7. Зранку підтягнули ще 8 колумбійців - і 15 бійців пішли зачищати ліс по флангах.

Гром ішов першим: бліндаж, граната, постріл - і далі. 8-9 бліндажів він зачистив особисто, заходячи в кожен першим зі своїм "калашом".

Ввечері стався перший контактний бій. Троє окупантів вийшли прямо на позицію Грома. Гром дочекався, поки ворог підійде впритул, і відкрив вогонь.

А потім забрав у загиблих радіостанцію, яка стала безцінною: він слухав ворожі переговори й знав кожен їхній крок.

Суміжники, які мали їх замінити, не прийшли. І маленька група тримала позицію три доби сама. Двоє колумбійців загинули в зустрічному бою. Але ліс вони втримали.

А потім бій, який Гром згадує з усмішкою. Назустріч їм вийшов окупант, головою вище.

"Ви з якого батальйону?" - питає. "А ти з якого?" - "З третього, 122-ї, Камовський". - "А ми фантомівські".

Поговорили про все й ні про що, розійшлися - а потім Гром розвернувся й дав чергу йому в потилицю. Карма додав ще п'ять патронів.

Коли Гром отримав поранення - він не дозволив собі втратити свідомість. У телефоні було стільки важливої інформації про ворога, що він думав лише про одне: донести її своїм.

Його виносили двоє бразильців. Сітрі ніс півтора кілометра, потім передав Мені - і той ніс українського офіцера на своєму хребті майже п'ять кілометрів до лісного медпункту.

А третій, Едбор, прикривав їх від дронів і загинув - йому було 42, він стік кров'ю, не доїхавши до госпіталю.

Гром досі не може говорити про це без болю: "Вони для мене стали братами. Я мало кого так називаю".

Андрію Іщенку 31 рік. У нього п'ять поранень, три з них важкі, і дев'ять офіційних контузій. Але він не збирається зупинятися.

Каже: "Я піхота. Піхота - це моє все. Я не хочу, щоб вони знову заходили в Харків. Я хочу їх вибивати. Я дав слово своїм загиблим хлопцям, що виживу - і я його стримаю".

А поруч із ним - його побратим Карма, який теж отримав поранення, але встиг витягнути ще трьох своїх.

💥 What will be if Russia falls apart?

Inside Russia the occupied peoples will receive freedom, control over their own lands, the right to choose their own leaders and develop, restore the oppressed culture and the forgotten language, get rid of the shackles and propaganda and people will become richer, and their cities better.

🌍 Outside Russia the threat of a nuclear strike will disappear, most wars will disappear, dictatorships and terrorism in the world will remain without support and financing, peace will become safer and brighter, the quantity of pro-Russian politicians and problems with migrants will decrease, oil, gas, gasoline will become cheaper and more accessible.

🤔 Why do the USA and part of Europe fear the collapse of Russia and even the victory of Ukraine and do everything in order to save Russia from defeat? From one side possibly this is incompetence. Hard to believe in this, because now is the era of the internet and in general one can learn much of what one did not know but many conservative people blindly cling to the limited decisions of ancient politicians who in their time fell into the nets of the false faith in the USSR or Russia and consider Russia as an ally, ignoring its criminal activity and cruelty of the level of the 3rd Reich or the USSR. From the other side this is direct work for Russia. They simply receive Russian money for the betrayal of their own country, lobbying Russian interests and, in my opinion, such people are precisely more in Europe, because Europe is significantly closer to Russia and better knows Russia than the USA, which can err, although there also are enough Russian agents, as we see.

And Russia has another problem: its enormous size is turning from an advantage into a vulnerability. Air defenses cannot protect everything when strategic military and industrial targets are spread across such a huge territory.

So whatever Donald Trump says, this is not the moment to appease Vladimir Putin. It is the moment to keep weakening Russia’s ability to wage this war.

He added that the Ukrainian armed forces violated the terms of use of Starlink by using the system for offensive drone strikes. This "loophole" was closed last week.

🇺🇦🇱🇹 Lithuania has introduced the X-12 jet interceptor drone, designed to destroy high-speed air targets, in particular the Russian Geran-5, - Militarnyi

Drone has already been tested in combat conditions in Ukraine and is planned to be supplied to the Ukrainian military.

The X-12 is equipped with a turbojet engine and, according to the developers, can reach a maximum speed of up to 700 km/h. The cruising speed is about 350 km/h.

The declared flight range of the drone is 126 km, and the maximum altitude is 10 km. Depending on the configuration and payload, the flight duration can exceed 12 minutes.

Many of these Ukrainian guys who returned home from Russian captivity in today's latest prisoner exchange had been held in enemy dungeons since 2022. Marines who defended Mariupol back then... it feels like an entire era of the world ago.

The recent Starlink / Starshield incident in Ukraine has created a dangerous precedence for the US export industry, many haven't yet grasped. The sudden deactivation respectively curtailing of those systems without warning not only cost precious lives, but also equipment worth millions.

Though the blame game between the White House (Trump) and SpaceX (Musk) is going on, ultimately it doesn't matter. It showed the world that the USA are not a reliable partner any more. Pointing at some obscure "violation of terms of services" without providing the exact passage are just increasing that notion that this was a political move.

The explanation that Starlink must not be used for "offensive" means is nonsense, too. Starlink has never been turned on over Russia, and using it in Ukraine is by definition defensive in nature. You can even argue that hitting Russian targets in Russia is defensive, since you don't have to wait for an attack to be conducted. Even the intention is enough to warrant action and to eliminate the threat at the source. But this is a different topic.

Furthermore, SpaceX has been fully aware that its Starlink terminals are being used by Ukrainian forces. Especially when considering that Ukraine only recently had to white-list their Starlink terminals for the Ukrainian military so that Russian forces, who have been abundantly using Starlink as well, were locked out. It has always been clear that those Starlink terminals are used for and by the Ukrainian military, and Ukraine has always been thankful for that.

Coming up with this bogus story, now, three weeks before midterms is therefore as transparent as it is shameless. It is obvious for everyone that this was just figleaf statement so that a political agenda can be pushed, an agenda which runs counter to the strategic nationalist interests of the USA, both political and economic.

And this is the real scandal. It is not new that the US had to lock out its technology or supplies to nations with which it had previously good and even cordial relation. Iran under the Shah, South-Vietnam and Cuba before Castro are just three to name it. But as you can see from them, it made perfectly sense back then. Those nations switched sides or disappeared altogether.

Ukraine on the other hand didn't switch sides and even helped the US in the most recent and botched Iran war, despite being short on ammunition itself. The Ukrainian government accepted every possible compromise and offered an unconditional ceasefire from the start. Russia on the hand refused all of it and is demanding surrender. Yet, it gets this treatment? Unbelievable.

This will be noted by all clients around the globe who purchase US weapons and technology. If agreements are not honored and can unilaterally and even clandestinely be altered based on the whims of a few, who only follow their own motives or election lies, then the all concept reliability falls apart.

Whether it is Starlink, the F-35, Tomahawk missiles or HIMARS. All those systems run on software and in many cases can only properly operate with recent updates. You don't even need have a kill switch. You can only refuse to update and many of those systems lose more than 90% of their effectiveness within a short period, making worthless.

This is why we see the blame game between Musk and Trump. I'm sure that people around those guys told them how absolutely shortsighted and stupid this step was. It will fall back on the entire US industry. Not even those two guys are worth that losses and backlash. A functional US Congress would immediately start subpoenas and hearings, asking questions in order to mitigate the damage, but here we are.

Trump and Musk have given the best reason why not to buy American. Customers - governmental and private alike - around the globe will take note of this and act accordingly, and I wouldn't be surprised if this won't be limited to US military products only. An absolutely senseless and avoidable own goal.

Сьогодні ми визволили 9 цивільних та 261 захисника.

Більшість – 266 оборонців – потрапила в полон у 2022 році, зокрема 221 – під час захисту Маріуполя. Сімдесят два з них брали участь в боях за «Азовсталь». П’ятеро пережили теракт росіян в Оленівці.

Серед звільнених 38 офіцерів та 223 вояки солдатського і сержантського складу. Це представники Військово-Морських Сил, Національної гвардії, Сухопутних військ, Держприкордонслужби, Сил ТрО, Державної спеціальної служби транспорту, ДШВ, а також ДСНС.

Дев’яносто чотирьох наших військовослужбовців держава-агресорка незаконно судила за абсолютно вигаданими звинуваченнями і для 90 винесла фейкові вироки.

Тепер вони вдома, на волі, на рідній землі. І це насправді великий день для України. Ми боремось за кожного й кожну і будемо докладати всіх зусиль заради повернення всіх наших людей з полону.

Putin says Ukrainian land belongs to Russia because of history. But what happens when we apply his logic to Russia itself?

On October 22, Putin once again claimed that Ukrainian territories are historically Russian.

“This is not their territory. It’s the territory of historical Russia,” he said.

Interesting argument. Let’s apply the same logic to Russia.

🇯🇵 Japan: The Soviet Union seized the southern Kuril Islands in 1945. Japan still claims four of those islands, which Russia controls today.

🇨🇳 China: Vladivostok and large parts of Russia’s Far East were once under China’s Qing dynasty. Russia acquired these territories through treaties in the 19th century.

🇫🇮 Finland: Vyborg and parts of Karelia belonged to Finland before World War II. Finland was forced to surrender them to the Soviet Union.

🇩🇪 Germany: Kaliningrad was once Königsberg, a German city and part of East Prussia until 1945.

🇹🇷 Turkey: The Ottoman Empire once controlled Azov and held territory and influence around the northern Black Sea before Russian expansion.

So here’s a question for Putin:

Should Japan take back its islands? Should China reclaim Vladivostok? Should Finland reclaim Vyborg? Should Germany reclaim Kaliningrad?

Of course, historical possession does not automatically give any country the right to seize territory today. Most of these countries do not even make such claims.

And that is precisely the point.

If every country started invading its neighbors to recover territory it controlled centuries ago, where would it end?

Ukraine is an internationally recognized sovereign country. Russia recognized its borders.

History is not a license to invade. And Ukraine does not belong to Russia simply because Putin says it does.

There is a massive corruption scandal unfolding in the US, with top American executives abandoning a $25 billion gas project over allegations of secret Russian investment and control.

​All of this is happening just as the US administration moves to ease sanctions on Russia.

​It is exactly what it looks like: blatant corruption. An attempt to sell out Ukraine in exchange for lucrative deals out of pure greed. Meanwhile, it is Ukraine that continues to endure constant, baseless accusations supported by nothing. Madness.

Він думав, що його зараз поб'ють. А вертухай відвів його в кімнату і сказав те, чого він не очікував почути від ворога.

Історія Володимира Сорочана - експолоненого з Херсона. 30 місяців у російському полоні.

"Раз в три місяці когось забивали до смерті. Просто тому, що їм так захотілося", - згадує він.

Найважче було в Ряжску, коли не годували. На вечерю давали чверть картоплі і казали: "Нічого, вилікуєтесь уже в Україні".

А якось принесли гречку - "але там була не гречка, а вода. Я казав, що це просто вода, коли миють каструлю".

Одного разу вертухай запитав, звідки він родом. Володимир відповів: з Херсона.

Той вивів його в окрему кімнату, зняв балаклаву і сказав російською: "Я зробив дурну помилку в 14-му році, що повірив пропаганді. Зараз дуже шкодую. І як би вам важко не було - не здавайтесь, не зраджуйте Батьківщину".

"На його очах наверталися сльози. Він був більш пригнічений, ніж навіть ми в полоні", - каже Володимир.

І додає: "Можливо, у нього була задача втертися в довіру. Але мені здається, що якісь нотки співчуття в ньому були".

Про кожен день побиття він розповідає стримано. Працювали кінологами і шокерами. "Коли били, їм подобалося, щоб ми кричали".

Без слів починали бити по ногах гумовою палицею - і всі мовчали.

"Ви що, вам не боляче?" - і бив ще сильніше. Кричати доводилося, щоб задовольнити його его.

"І перший раз у житті я побачив колір своїх ніг майже від п'ят до сідниць. Вона була чорно-синя".

А ще був день, коли замість палиці й шокера у вертухая в руках опинився фотоапарат.

"Я думаю: що це, фотосесія буде?" Виявилось - обмін.

Охоронці казали, що це "наступний етап" і що вони залишаються в Росії. Але сусіди по камері вже знали правду.

"Я вже був упевнений - сам у собі, в серці, - що їду на обмін. Бо цього дуже хотілося".

І ось він уже в Україні. Заходить сбушник, називає прізвище - і не збігається ім'я та по батькові.

"Я йому кажу: я нікуди назад не поїду". - "Та ти вже приїхав, ти вже нікуди не поїдеш".

Сьогодні Володимир уперше за рік наважився приїхати в рідний Херсон.

"Мене всі відмовляли: тут шалені обстріли, не приїжджай. Я уявляв, що буде гірше - бо бачив, що сталося з Маріуполем. Я не скажу, що Херсон мертвий, але він ледве дихає", - каже він.

Він веде блог про полон і написав книгу "Полон". І показує те, що бачив щодня: ось кормушка - віконечко в коридор, звідки видавали їжу. Ось коридор, де треба стати вздовж стіни - і по тобі починають працювати.

"Ми ніколи не були браттями - ні по родині, ні по матері".

Він вижив. І розповідає далі - щоб не забули.

Otherwise, this profoundly hypocritical, infantile, walking embodiment of the Dunning-Kruger effect, drunk on his own sense of limitless power, impunity, and imagined moral superiority, will bring the entire free world to ruin -- all for the sake of the ketamine-fueled cockroaches in his head.
