All the SGA slander has become corny. He finished fourth in free throw attempts per game on a team that was 17th. He's as close to a throwback player as you get: a (mostly) inside the three-point line scorer who can beat you a bunch of ways. He gets calls, yes. Gets fouled, too.
Fun Fact
Maybe SGA is unethical.
Maybe SGA is destroying the game.
Maybe SGA is only a free throw merchant.
Or maybe, you're just making excuses.
Nobody complained when Kobe had 3 seasons with more free throw attempts than SGA this year.
Nobody complained when MJ had 4 seasons with more free throw attempts than SGA this year.
Nobody complained when Bron had 4 seasons with more free throw attempts than SGA this year.
Maybe SGA is just unguardable.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander postgame, when asked if he knew he was going to take a stepback three for the game winner coming out of the huddle:
"No. I have answers to the test, but I've gotta see the questions first."
Jaylin Williams on SGA:
"The most impressive thing as a teammate and as a friend of Shai is what he is off the court."
"He's just like me. He's just like the 34th pick, the two-way. He's the same person to everybody. He's the MVP of the league, but he's a better person."
NCAA officially denied #Sooners LB Owen Heinecke’s appeal for another year of eligibility.
The denial of the appeal comes after the NCAA initially denied Heinecke’s petition for an extra year. The NCAA is counting three games of lacrosse at Ohio State.

In 2005, the NBA arrived in Oklahoma City, as we hosted the New Orleans / Oklahoma City Hornets. That lasted two years. For a year, we went without the NBA, and then the Thunder arrived in 2008. This relationship with the NBA has changed our city forever. Many of us have borne witness to this 20-year journey.
At the beginning of the current 2025-2026 NBA season, only two current players had actually played on the court during Oklahoma City’s first 2005 season - Chris Paul and LeBron James. With Chris Paul’s retirement this week, now there is only one.
Of course, @CP3 is not just a casual participant in this story. Chris won Rookie of the Year with the New Orleans / Oklahoma City Hornets and during his two years here as a Hornet, Chris was a major catalyst for OKC’s love affair with the NBA.
Thirteen years later, in 2019, Chris returned and led our Thunder to a surprising playoff berth. He was a key early mentor to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who would later lead us to our city’s first championship. Chris Paul’s fingerprints are all over OKC’s NBA story.
Upon the announcement of his retirement from the NBA, Oklahoma City sends our gratitude to Chris Paul and wishes him all the best in this next chapter.
Chris, you always have a home here in OKC.
OU Baseball had an incredible opening weekend. Just hope they can do it when the season really gets going. No, I don’t mean SEC play, I’m talking about games with Dallas Baptist.
