@nwcfl but because we’re expecting a bigger crowd as we could win the league, you’re now applying cup rules to a rearranged game. All about the money isn’t it, never mind the fans
@nwcfl forcing wythenshawe fc to not let season tickets be used for a rearranged game is out of order. Was alright for our rearranged game against ramsbottom earlier in the season to be free.
RIP John Walker (1937-2026)
Everybody at the club is devastated to learn of the passing of President John Walker.
John started playing for Wythenshawe Lads Club in 1946 and continued to play his favoured Inside Left position for the club until the age of 51 as part of a Vets side.
When asked to name some of his favourite Wythenshawe memories John listed several. Which included the treble winning season of 1989-90, the incredible 1985 FA Vase run, the Easter Tour of the Isle of Man in 1954, and the grand opening of the Hollyhedge Park facility.
One of John's proudest moments at the club was when, aged 51, he was able to play in the same team as his son, Alan.
John was Wythenshawe through and through who gave everything and more to the club throughout his life. Our thoughts go out to Christine, their children and grandchildren, and all of John's friends and family.
We know you'll be with us on the sidelines cheering us on, and celebrating any success like you did back in 2024. A true Ammies legend 💙🤍
