@RestIsPolitics Excellent interview and great perspectives on Trump, Vance, Iraq etc. The trajedies of his family history in Poland also the loss of his daughter very moving. His perspective on Gaza strangely callous however - like the ordinary people of Gaza should have expected this.
@maitlis@Channel4 Was my viewing choice for the night based on the line up but putting Nadine Dorries on the panel was a big turn off. Im looking for critical insight on election night not cringey arguments about the past. Producers blurring the line between entertainment and serious TV.
@SuitorBrothers European cities in Spain, France etc are not seeing the same amout of retail closure and footfall decline. Why? normal people live downtown (not just students), public transport is cheap and easy, responsible drinking culture, no street preachers etc..
@NewtonEmerson I think you are right that the CTA may need a seperate form of "passport" to make it work post-Brexit. Inevitably this could mean border checks at airports and ports. Also agree that setttling in EU countries generally requires more ID checks than in the UK or Ireland.
@SuitorBrothers Completely agree. Years of bad development enabled by BCC and lack of imagination. Other European cities have nowhere near the dereliction and decay.
@NigelAWatson @kieranjohng @TorstenBell Feels like we are already in the Italian scenario. Not sure that an incoming Labour govt will have the mandate or consensus to do what is needed. Covid debt on top of weak growth is going leave very little room for positive change.
