I wish to express my profound gratitude to the Functional Executive Committee of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), especially Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey and National Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi for the confidence reposed in me through my appointment as Deputy Director of Communication.

This appointment is both a privilege and a solemn responsibility.

On this occasion, I pledge myself to the cause of our party, to lead a stable democracy that delivers socioeconomic development for the people of Ghana.

I further dedicate myself to the protection of the people’s mandate through accurate, factual and responsible communication.

I also wish to express my sincere appreciation to the entire membership of the NDC and to all individuals who have directly or indirectly supported me throughout my journey thus far. Your encouragement, guidance, goodwill and steadfast support have been invaluable, and I remain deeply grateful for the role each of you has played in my growth and this achievement.

It was an honour to accompany my able Minister for Foreign Affairs, who served as Chair of the High-Level Committee of Experts established by H.E. President John Dramani Mahama, to the Presidency on Friday for the presentation of the Committee’s reports to the President.

The Committee, tasked with developing a Strategy Document, Priority Pillars and a Work Programme to guide President Mahama’s 2027 African Union Chairmanship, has successfully concluded its mandate and presented five comprehensive reports.

As a Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, I am particularly proud to have witnessed this important milestone and to have supported the Committee’s efforts towards laying a strong foundation for Ghana’s leadership of the African Union.

The rigorous preparatory work, coupled with President Mahama’s bold vision for a more united, prosperous and influential Africa, gives us confidence that his tenure as AU Chair will be transformative and impactful.

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve Ghana and contribute to the advancement of our shared continental agenda.

On behalf of the Ministry and all those involved in this important assignment, I extend our best wishes to H.E. President John Dramani Mahama as he assumes the Chairmanship of the African Union in January 2027.

Together, we look forward to a purposeful and impactful Ghanaian leadership at the continental level.
