New preprint out! We investigated the structural covariance of reading-related brain regions in adults and children with and without developmental dyslexia.

New paper out! We used real-time fMRI neurofeedback to control brain activation in the visual word form area. Once learned, participants were able to perform successful VWFA regulation even when feedback was absent.

Excited to share our new paper on neurodevelopmental trajectories of audiovisual letter and speech sound processing in children. We found inverted U-shaped development of activation in the STG and a more complex development in the vOTC.

New paper out by @SarahVDiPietro et al.! Effective connectivity analyses show that connections from the VWFA increased with age and that connectivity from the IPL to the VWFA was altered in dyslexia

PhD Student*in gesucht! Wir bieten ab Januar (oder späterem Zeitpunkt nach Absprache) eine Promotionsstelle im Bereich "Neurokognitive Grundlagen des Leseerwerbs, Lernverlaufsdiagnostik, Sprach- und Leseförderung".

New preprint out! We showed that participants were able to regulate activity in the Visual Word Form Area using real-time fMRI neurofeedback. The Visual Word Form Area is a key region of the brain's reading network.

Was brauchen Kinder zum Glücklichsein? Wodurch zeichnen sich erfolgreiche Lehrpersonen aus? Was machen Kriegserfahrungen mit Kindern und Jugendlichen? Wie kann die Erziehungskompetenz von sozial belasteten Eltern erhöht werden?
Excited for today's @ZNZNeuroscience symposium. Come check out our work presented in Prof. Dr. Silvia Brem's talk about brain connectivity development and in my poster about digit processing in the brain! @UZH_AdaBD @devneuroimaging
Finally, check out Christina Lutz’s poster to discuss “Altered audiovisual congruency effect in late but not early ERP time windows for pupils with typical and poor reading skills” (2-N-390)
On our way to #Flux2022! Looking forward to three days filled with developmental cognitive neuroscience and to presenting our latest findings 👇
@FluxSociety
Visit @NadaChFrei’s poster to find out more about her work on “Alterations in brain connectivity during letter-speech sound learning in poorly and typically reading children” (2-C-283)
Many congratulations to our brilliant PhD student @SarahVDiPietro for very successfully defending her PhD dissertation! We are very happy that Sarah will stay with us for her postdoc and continue her work on #developmentalneuroimaging.
She will mainly focus on the visual brain system and ask whether the maturation of visual white matter pathways can account for developmental changes of electrophysiological activity over childhood and adolescence.
@DSN_ZH
We are excited host Prof. Sendy Caffarra for a talk on Wednesday, September 28, 15.30-16.45 (RAA-G-01 Aula): Development of visual white matter pathways is linked to electrophysiological responses
The talk will be followed by an Apéro, please register: https://t.co/IR3NrWTmfg
