@Coloplast_UK The joy of knowing that i have a third chance at life thanks to my stoma (barry). Awareness and educating people about bowel issues is the way forward. Hidden to much.
@iasupport I believe that there should be pre ostomie meeting (Q&A) with patients with someone that already has an ostomie. Possibly a demo of changing bags etc. I would really love to look into this and make it happen. As it's a shock and will help so much with helping to deal with it.
one year ago today I was rushed into hospital with a perforated bowel which was amongst other things removed. Yeah it has changed my life there is no doughting that but not me as a person if anything it has made me stronger and value things that I would have taken for granted.
So some good news I have one local health connection group who wants to meet and talk about setting up meeting groups for people with ostomies. #stoma#ileostomy#ostomy#stomaawareness
Been really struggling the last few days or so, drained of energy and enthusiasm. It tries to drag you to that dark zone where you don't need to be. My moto now is I rule my stoma it doesn't rule me!!!!!
@Stomawise is there any chance of letting me know of any waterproof products you may have to cover ileostomy pouches etc whilst showering, ive been using a bag but people are asking me how I do it, I've been told you may have some products for this. Thankyou.
Today I'm trying out esteem synergy durahesive mouldable convex by #convatec and a sensura mini bag by #coloplast, the base plate has a built in mouldable ring that you ply back and then shrinks back around your #stoma once the plate is stuck down. It looks great and feels good.
