The City Gate boasts one of the nicest beer gardens in the centre of Exeter, as well as being a short walk from the river and the High Street. The staff were really friendly and attentive too. All around a really delicious satisfying meal in cozy surroundings ❤️❤️

And of course who could refuse pudding? A smooth buttery textured White Chocolate mousse was a perfect end to a really epic meal.

Mains were a Bacon wrapped pork loin, the City Gate Burger and Cider Battered Fish (Haddock) & Chips. The chunky triple fried chips were on point and crispy, and the batter on my fish was light and airy, coating a flavourfuk fillet of haddock.

Starters we kicked off proceedings with Shared Baked Camembert, Fowey Mussels and a Crab Salad. The mussels were a stand out win for me, with a gorgeous wild garlic broth keeping things together.
