@rachel_w I've been wondering the same thing. The time/money we spend on rescuing people in forests or at sea and not, say, people sleeping rough in cities is... interesting...
@AmandaRossWhite @carrieprice78 I second Carrie on the narrative methods sans supplement, but I get particularly irked when they share the search phrase for just 1 database. Excuse me, but, that is A) a tease, b) rude, and c) rude, because are you intimating the full searches are boring? How dare.
@jamiehaz I hear you on the contradictory feedback. We have a small staff of <10, & meetings every Monday am. People love/hate it. We require each person to report out 3-ish things from their context. 5 go one week, 5 the next. Its not always great, but it gives non-librarians more voice.
@ehkopin @internetstine I've been wondering about the vionic loafer! is the arch support aggressive?? because that's what I need. And yes, hot girls wear orthotics. Obvs.
@SheaSwauger Please agitate and demand a better scholarly communications system from those in positions of power (Univ. admins, legislators). Librarians need your help. Check with your professional orgs/colleagues & see if they use for-profit publishers & work towards non-profit open access.
@violetbfox yeah, that's pretty accurate. When I shifted from community college to medical librarianship I was at first very excited about the increase in respect from faculty, but quickly realized it was accompanied by greater "professionalism", often in the ickiest sense of the word.
Let's hope this isn't a sign of how the Summer of 2023 will play out... For reference, someone used a chainsaw to cut off the end of a handicap-accessible picnic table. @GrandForksCity@EGrandForksMN@GrandForksPD@gfherald
Yep. That's a vehicle stuck along the riverbank in EGF. That's not allowed. Neither is cutting down trees on public property. But both activities happened in The Greenway this weekend. Illegal activities destroy public property and deprive others of enjoying these spaces.
@libraryvines Agreed! I did see the CADTH filters mentioned, which I do rely on, & I admit, I sometimes use them to shock my researchers, like: "I sense you have a cavalier attitude to searches. Please, feast your eyes on this page of structured search, then tell me again why 1 term is enough"
@tcshields thank you! I saw your other tweet about the 2 week timeframe riggggght after commenting 😅 Also, I shared this thread with my colleagues, its so valuable THANK YOU 🙏🏽✊🏽
