Was thinking back to a pretty great day I had about a decade ago. I was working as a manager in a comics shop when a young man walked in. I gave a polite “Hello” and he sorta sheepishly nodded back.
He began looking around but seemed a little overwhelmed.
(A thread.)
@zzzzaaaacccchhh@stereogum Funny you mentioned that, today, they sent me an invoice for $39. I cancelled my membership nearly two years ago. In fact, @VinylMePlease May actually owe me credit.
Just read of the passing of one of my favorite artists, Jackson “Butch” Guice.
He had did of my favorite Superman runs and his work on Winter Soldier was extraordinary. He was always one of those guys who made it easier to buy a comic if his name was on it.
Rest in peace.
For the six or seven of you who remember me from comics blogging, I wrote a post celebrating my blog, “Seven Hells!” 20th Anniversary.
Thrill to the thrilling* reasons why it began and ended and what I’ve been doing since.

Truly enjoying @TomTaylorMade, @Bruno_Redondo_F & Co’s Nightwing run. The story of a man doing his best and then asking himself how he can do better.
Just read of the passing of John Cassaday. Just a phenomenal artist.
Never met him but I remember he was once @baltimorecomics and fell behind on his promised sketches. He stayed behind after the show shut down to do as many as he could. Class act.
Rest in peace.
@DannyDeraney I tried to explain to someone that Michael Jackson, Cher and Tina Turner were famous in the 70’s but “70’s famous” and nowhere near as famous as they were in the 60’s and had to get to the 80’s to become more famous than they were in the 60’s.
SPINNER SPOTLIGHT! One of the best company crossovers arrived August 10, 1982! X-Men/Titans delivered for fans of both teams across the board. An exceptional effort, it would be the last of these for over a decade.
