@mglenbarker Contract/consulting work can be viable, if you can tolerate the constant fear it all dries up six months from now. But I’m eight years in and things are going pretty dang well…
@travisbedard Silently lurking 🤷🏻♀️. Work keeps me busy, mostly in environmental sector but still trying to peek in on arts world sometimes. Hope you’re well too!
Big news on the environmental policy & advocacy front today. Listening in soon to @Earthjustice@StrictScrutiny_ and @EvergreenAction explain what it all means https://t.co/awiH4w9iBd
Some really promising statements from newly nominated @NEAarts chair. We’re likely to be hearing a lot more about how arts/artists contribute to individual well-being, economic impact, and healthy communities.
@HESherman Equivalent of #booktok but for plays? 30 second explainers on what’s happening in the industry today? #lobbywalks (every time you walk into a lobby to see a new show, just film the walk in). 1 question “interviews” with folks you know in the industry?
I would like to see more people on this website talking about the Lesbian Bar Project, a documentary and initiative trying to preserve the last 21 U.S. bars for queer women so they stay open and thriving! 🍹 https://t.co/X392ztQ6SR
@travisbedard High end standing stool (https://t.co/ouvTbjYKUS) paired with cheaper multipurpose desk/workbench (https://t.co/oqWCN0DWbN). Been using this combo for the past 5 years. Desk is permanently at stand height, but stool lets you stand on pad or lean/sit as needed
@mglenbarker@Chris_Ashworth low pay/legacy tech makes recruitment/retention hard. mostly contracted out anyway. Procurement officers aren’t good at judging specialty professional services. Gov RFP process/scoping/pricing isn’t adapted to tech. Lots written about https://t.co/uYrkoDMmG8 failures still apply
