“How could it not be Jewish?”
That was Leonard Cohen’s response when people asked whether his music was Jewish.
Of course it was.
The poetry. The questions. The resilience. The refusal to surrender hope even after seeing the darkness of the world.
Cohen never treated being Jewish as something to hide, apologize for, or water down. It was woven into everything he created because it was woven into who he was.
He believed in peace. He believed in humanity. But he also understood that peace requires confronting reality, not escaping it.
There is something beautiful about that kind of confidence. Not loud. Not performative. Just deeply rooted.
Leonard Cohen didn’t become great despite being Jewish.
He became Leonard Cohen by being unapologetically Jewish.
And that’s something worth being proud of. 🇮🇱🎶
Labor MLC Stephen Lawrence is speaking now. Finally someone making sense. Lawrence acknowledges that sex selective abortion is happening, even if it's to a small extent, and has said that the argument that the bill can’t be supported as it would wind back access to abortion is a red herring.
Lawrence is right that sex selective abortion is happening. An Edith Cowan university study of 2.1 million births PROVES it.
One Friday, I was bringing Shabbat dinner to Holocaust survivors when I met Edith. Edith is a 98 year old survivor from Austria. She lost every single member of her family.
Edith's family made the unimaginable decision to give her away to another family that was able to flee.
She told me about the last time she saw her father as he put her on a train and collapsed. She never saw her family again.
When she got to the UK, the family that said they would care for her abandoned her. She grew up completely alone.
But she figured it out. She wound up having a successful career, finding a great husband, and moving to America.
At the end of our conversation, she goes back to work and we make a date to meet for ice cream.
Tens of thousands of people gathered in Manhattan today with:
No face masks.
No terrorist flags.
No chants threatening violence.
In case you're confused by the images of pro Palestinian gatherings in New York City, the Israel Day Parade is what a peaceful rally looks like.
The United Kingdom has been lost.
- Dealing with her pension, my wife was on the phone with a bureaucrat who, at some point, asked what her address was. When she said, "Israel", the UK bureaucrat hung-up on her.
The #UK is becoming another shit country.
New York City history books will record that when hate and petty politics took over Gracie Mansion there was a responsible adult who stayed to hold things together.
Thank you Jessica Tisch for being that responsible adult.
🇯🇴🇮🇱 MUST WATCH: JORDANIAN REFORM LEADER MARCHES IN NY FOR ISRAEL, DELIVERS BOLD MESSAGE
Abedalelah Almaala, President of the Jordan Coalition for Change, proudly marched in today’s Israel Day Parade, standing shoulder to shoulder with supporters of Israel and the Jewish community.
Almaala has publicly argued that Jordan should accept Gazan refugees and take a firm stand against terrorists and extremist groups that fuel conflict and instability throughout the region.
Others at the parade praised Almaala for his willingness to speak openly about issues many others avoid. Many at the parade said that if more Arab leaders and activists embraced dialogue, coexistence, and opposition to terrorism as strongly as Almaala does, peace in the Middle East would be far more achievable.
While some politicians chose to stay away from the event, Almaala showed up and made his voice heard.
Thank you, Abedalelah Almaala, for standing up for peace, coexistence, and a better future for the region. 🇮🇱🤝🇯🇴🔥
Iran has just been nominated to preside over the UN Committee for the protection of women's rights, human rights, and the prevention of terrorism.
YES, IRAN. And it was supported by the United Kingdom, Spain, and France.
This is not a joke. It's real.

IRAN JUST DROPPED HUGE BOMB🚨
President Masoud Pezeshkian reportedly sent an official letter to Mojtaba Khamenei demanding to RESIGN.🤯
In the letter he brutally slammed the regime, claiming the country is no longer run through official channels, it’s now completely controlled by a hardline faction of the IRGC.
This is the deepest public rift at the very top of the Islamic Republic we’ve seen in years.
It will be interesting to see $SPY & $USO tomorrow 😬🫡
