Wie man ein Grundrecht entsorgt, ohne dass es jemand merkt - Versuch einer Rekonstruktion der klammheimlichen Abschaffung des #IFG. Und ja, die Namen der üblichen Verdächtigen tauchen natürlich auf. 👇

Vorweg muss man der Koalition eines lassen: Sie hat aus dem ersten Versuch gelernt. Als Philipp Amthor im Frühjahr 2025 die Abschaffung des IFG noch offen ins Verhandlungspapier schrieb — ausgerechnet Amthor, dessen Lobbybrief für Augustus Intelligence erst durch eine IFG-Anfrage ans Licht kam —, gab es 400'000 Unterschriften, 50 NGOs, hunderte Medienberichte. Also stand im Koalitionsvertrag brav: Reform, "mit Mehrwert für Bürgerinnen und Bürger".

Dueser angebliche Mehrwert liegt jetzt vor, als unscheinbarer Punkt 32 eines Papiers namens "Ein Programm für Aufschwung und Beschäftigung". Der sagt: Wer künftig wissen will, was Behörden treiben, braucht ein "berechtigtes Interesse", darf keine Organisation sein, muss EU-Bürger sein, bekommt geschwärzte Namen und zahlt kostendeckend — also potenziell fünfstellig. Das ist keine Reform, sondern ein Gesetz, das nur noch dem Namen nach existiert, beschlossen von einem Gremium, das in keiner Verfassung steht, verkündet in einer Pressemitteilung über Rente und Strompreise. Transparenz wird abgeschafft, und zwar maximal intransparent. Mehr Ironie geht um Grunde nicht.

Denn... wer sitzt im Koalitionsausschuss? Überrraaaschung! Unter anderem Jens Spahn, dessen Maskendeals durch IFG-Anfragen dokumentiert wurden. Alexander Dobrindt, dessen Ministerium den Entwurf nun schreiben darf — dasselbe Haus, dessen rechtswidrige Förderstopps und Grenzkontrollen zuletzt per IFG recherchiert wurden. Ob Spahn im Raum Druck gemacht hat, weiss niemand — das Gremium tagt ja geheim, das ist der Witz. Belegen muss man es auch nicht. Es reicht festzuhalten: Über die Abschaffung des Instruments, das ihre Skandale öffentlich machte, entschieden exakt die Männer, deren Skandale es öffentlich machte. In jedem Unternehmen hiesse das maximale Befangenheit.

Und die SPD? Hat vor einem Jahr noch Widerstand geleistet. Jetzt unterschreibt sie die Kapitulation gleich mit — als Juniorpartnerin bei der Entkernung eines Gesetzes, das eine grosse Koalition 2006 selbst eingeführt hat.

There are about 18,000 species of wasps in North America. Roughly 20 of them can hurt you.

The wasps people fear are all from one family: Vespidae. They make up less than 1% of wasp species on the continent. They build the visible nests, they defend them aggressively, and they're the ones you remember from a bad encounter.

The other 99% live solitary lives and ignore humans entirely. Many can't sting at all. Many more have stingers but never use them on people because they don't have a nest to defend.

What they do instead is hunt other insects. A single mud dauber stocks her nest with paralyzed spiders, including widows and recluses. A braconid wasp lays eggs in tomato hornworms. An ichneumon wasp parasitizes wood-boring beetles that kill ash trees. A cuckoo wasp infiltrates the nests of other wasps and bees. Some species control aphids; others control caterpillars, beetle grubs, or flies.

Most agricultural pest insects in North America are controlled, in part, by parasitic wasps that almost no human ever sees. There are over 25,000 species of ichneumon wasps alone, and they keep entire orders of insects in check.

The five or so wasp species that ruin a picnic in late August are real. The 17,995 species that are running the pest control infrastructure of an entire continent get almost none.

You can reduce a lot of package supply chain risk with one boring rule:

- Do not install fresh releases immediately. use a minimum release age
- delay new package versions by a few days or a week
- let the ecosystem inspect the package before your pipeline pulls it

In many recent cases, that delay alone would have been enough. Let everyone else, scanners, sandboxes, analysts, regexes, AI, and poor souls on incident response, look at the package first 😏

Today, Descent II celebrates its 30th birthday.

Published on March 13, 1996, it is considered by fans to be the best in the franchise. One of its biggest strengths was the complete freedom of movement: no limitations, total six degrees of freedom (which set it apart from other FPS games at the time). But it also came at the cost of sometimes feeling lost or even nauseous.

The guide bot helped reduce disorientation, but you still needed a strong stomach for the rollercoaster sensation of flying through tight corners and labyrinth-like mine layouts.
