Second #AkshayyaHinduAward - An Appeal

We talk a lot about how there is no Hindu ecosystem that institutes awards/fellowships to people who work on the ground. But all talk and no action never helped anyone.

So some of us like-minded individuals got together in Pune and decided to institute our own awards, for the Hindus, by the Hindus for work done for the Hindus, the #AkshayyaHinduPuraskar!

Since 2023, we have instituted awards in five different categories, to be awarded to young, active Karyakartas who are doing stellar work on the ground for Hindus in the following five areas.

1 Gauraksha
2 Social Assimilation
3 Art, Culture, Literature, Media
4 Welfare Activities in Tribal Regions
5 Protection of Dharma

This year, the award carries a cash prize of 10,000 rupees each, a Murti of Kodanda Dhari Shriram and a set of books that promote cultural nationalism by various authors.

The awards are called #AkshayyaHinduPuraskar as the Award Ceremony will be held around Akshayya Tritiya each year. 2024 is the second year of the awards and to make the nomination process more transparent and democratic, we are inviting nominations from the public.

If you know anyone who has done stellar work in these five areas, or if any of you are doing work in the afore mentioned categories, please fill out the form either nominating someone else or yourself, giving brief details of your work. The form is shared in the first comment. The decision of the selection committee will be final.

As we believe this is the work of the Hindu society as a whole, we have decided to not accept any government grants or CSR funds for these awards. However, individual contributions are welcome. We are in the process of forming a trust under the aegis of H.I.N.D.U (Humanist Indian National Democratic Union). We also plan to apply for 80G under the trust, but this year we will not be able to provide any tax benefits, so please donate only if you trust us. We will give all accounts on the day of the Awards Ceremony.

The awards will be given in a ceremony in Pune around Akshayya Tritiya, I.e around 10th of May on a convenient day. The awards will be given to the karyakartas by karyakartas. Politicians of all shades are welcome only as guests, supporters, friends, patrons. This is the recognition of work on the ground by people who have spent their entire lives working on the ground.
