What you're forgetting is that in Jordan's situation, we were under constant pressure and needed to slow the game down, keep possession, and avoid giving the ball away cheaply.

At the moment Nuamah received the ball, we were actually on the attack, so naturally the movements ahead of him had to be forward runs. The objective wasn't to recycle possession at that point but to progress the attack and create a scoring opportunity.

However, we had no runs apart from the full back so yeah, maybe he could have gone another route.
