A 24-year-old Polish tennis player arrived in Paris last week ranked 114th in the world, with no sponsors, no guaranteed income, and no certainty she could even pay for her hotel room.
She had to win three qualifying matches just to enter the French Open main draw. Prize money is only paid at the end of the tournament, so a Polish sports drink brand quietly stepped in and covered her hotel bill.
Her name is Maja Chwalinska. And today, she plays in the French Open final.
Before this tournament, she had won exactly one Grand Slam main draw match in her entire career. She had battled depression so severe that in 2021 she couldn't get out of bed. She underwent knee surgery in 2022. She spent years grinding through small tournaments across Europe just to stay afloat.
Then she arrived in Paris, won three qualifiers, and kept winning. Zheng Qinwen. Elise Mertens. Maria Sakkari. Diana Shnaider. Nine straight matches. One set dropped.
She is now the first qualifier in French Open history to reach the final. The last time a qualifier reached a Grand Slam final, it was Emma Raducanu at the 2021 US Open. Raducanu won.
By simply making the final, Chwalinska has earned more prize money than her entire career combined. The runner-up cheque alone is $1.6 million. If she wins today, she takes home $3.25 million.
One week ago she couldn't pay for her hotel room.

Seeing the beautiful service all collectively performed in this month of Chaitra — filling 1000 kilos of *kidiyaru*(food for ants) — filled the heart with joy and pride 💖
This *Jeevdaya* carried out for voiceless living beings is not merely service, but a sacred भावना — through which we have received the blessings of countless silent lives 🙏
Let us continue to remain united in this spirit of love and compassion, keep participating in such #Jeevdaya activities again and again, and move forward on the path shown by Lord Mahavir 🌸
They keep the coconuts filled with food called kidiyaru, under the ground..
Jai Jinendra 🙏🏻
Best wishes on the sacred occasion of Bhagwan Mahavir Janma Kalyanak. The life and teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir continue to illuminate the path of truth, non-violence and compassion. His ideals are spiritually uplifting and also deeply relevant in today’s world. His emphasis on equality and kindness reminds us of our shared responsibility towards society.
#MCGlobalWealthSummit | “If AI is going to bruise India, it’s going to butcher the US.”
Sachee Trivedi, Founder & Director, Trident Capital Investments, tells @SurabhiUpadhyay that concerns over India lacking an AI story have become a key bearish argument among global investors.
She notes IT accounts for only about 7% of India’s GDP, and if AI disrupts labour markets globally, both India and the US would face similar structural shifts. The US currently commands around 65% of global equity allocation, compared with roughly 2% for India.

5. Make Cooking Non-Negotiable.
Every time you order outside food.
You give a stranger full control of your health.
Unknown oils. Hidden sugar. Chemical fillers.
Harvard School of Public Health research found home-cooked meals have significantly fewer calories, less sugar, and less harmful fats than restaurant food.
• Cook simple—not fancy.
• Real ingredients — not packets.
• Your kitchen is your health sanctuary.
I am not a great cook.
But I cook.
Because I know what goes into my body matters.
Convenience food is convenient today. Hospital bills are not convenient tomorrow.
