@kyleshevlin I know it doesn't help with this, but you have been the most influential person on how I write React code. Half the time i give advice or feedback I follow it up with sending your post that I learned it from (granted Kent accounts for roughly 30% of the time too 😅)

@thekitze I bought a deck when my son was about a month old. I play so many more games now that I don’t need to take up the tv to play. Now I can play while my wife watches tv, or while I watch sports. I also played a ton while holding my son for his naps

@tlakomy I try to apply to jobs at least once a year, whether I am seriously looking or not. If I’m not making a big effort to move on I only apply at companies that really interest me, or that I hear about from a companies recruiter

@wesbos I created a prototype of this. Due to various requirements we had to do it on the server. I gathered all the data in an asynchrony function, rendered a react component to a string, then rendered that inside of Puppeteer. Never saw the light of day, but it was fun to figure out

@rafeytwt @thekitze I can leave my fingers on the home row keys when moving around instead of moving my hand to the arrow keys. Just saving myself the movement. Took about a week to get used to, now it's natural for me to do it.

@thekitze At one company we were using a massive library to share animations between web and mobile. The library was like 3mb gziped. I convinced them to just use the spinner in @MaterialUI, which we were already using for components

@thekitze Mind you, I think I _really_ got back into the habit when my son was around 6 months old and consistently sleeping through the night. Until that point I let myself sit on Twitter or TikTok as much as I wanted - I was still in survival mode (and still am half the time 😅)

@thekitze This is basically what I had to do when we had our baby a little over a year ago! Once baby is down I sit and read for 30-60ish minutes, and then hangout with the wife, play video games, do some coding, whatever other things I want to do with my time. I've read 25 books this year

@kyleshevlin I'm on about 4 years of working in React. Really happy with it, as much as there are little things that people complain about, I find it to be a very productive framework
