@JaffaBerri @NilZeroArt From what I know light does different things when it hits a materials at once.
You get specularity from it bouncing off the smooth surface (mirror like) and diffuse/transmitted (coloured/filtered) light when it enters the surface and escapes and everything else becomes heat etc.
i dont really know how to ask this so i drew a picture but how do you shade an object that is 2 seperate/contrasting tones correctly. like how do u balance the darkest dark tone right next to the darkest light tone correctly
@Crystalcheese07 I'd honestly call it a PURE reflection. It flies in and bounces directly off the surface right into your eye like a Mirror. While everything else like colour, diffused, and transmitted light is imperfect because some of it gets lost and absorbed
