Throughout his career, Karl-Anthony Towns has always been compared to Dirk Nowitzki.
For years, I thought that was a lazy comparison..until now.
How KAT is following in Dirk's footsteps for @ES_sportsnews
https://t.co/OECY77Njc0
Am I taking crazy pills? This article implies Dirk was a playoff decliner in terms of production until 2011… he *averaged* 25-10 over 143 playoff games. In the regular season he was the best player on a team that won 50+ for over a decade straight.
This KAT run is a great story but I kinda think the similarities to Dirk basically end at the fact that they’re both perimeter shooting PFs tbh
Their career arcs aren’t really similar at all
This was the main stat ESPN was pushing all the time during Luka's finals run. Not the fact that he became the first player ever to lead the playoffs in total points, rebounds, assists and steals. This is such a great example of double standards and agendas they want to push.
61% blow-by rate in the Finals on 18 drives Wemby defended. Not that this is a useful stat or stat we hear much about anymore.
But we all remember how much it was talked about with Luka vs Boston in the Finals which was 58% btw...
Michael Wilbon:
“Jalen Brunson is at least as valuable as Luka Doncic… North Texas blew up because they got rid of Luka, nobody had that reaction when Jalen Brunson walked out of North Texas.”
(via @FirstTake, h/t @awfulannouncing)
if jalen brunson pulls this off it’s gonna be like a dirk nowitzki level championship where the one championship is actually worth like three championships
Good Job Dallas Mavericks,
BRUNSON out here beating the SPURS in GAME 1 of the NBA FINALS
Mark Cuban, Nico Harrison, Finley, you FOOLS are at fault for this.
KG was so much better than Dirk at every facet of the game that when they played each other in the playoffs, KG held him to *Checks notes*
