@BeardedBlueDevl Tyler wasn’t carried by playing with 3 other all-Americans. I could go on, but it’s not as clear cut as you think. Your bias gets in the way.
@BeardedBlueDevl Laetner isn’t the all time leading scorer in the ACC history or top 10 in rebounds. Laetner isn’t the only player in history to be named a Consensus First-Team All-American and First-Team All-ACC in all four seasons. Laetner didn’t have career averages close to 20/9.
@dombknowing@SeizeTheNae I promise Grant hill and Danny ferry were a bigger scoring threats. Not that Laetner wasn’t ever double teamed, but not nearly to the extent of Hansborough. What’s funny about this back and forth is I never even said TH was better. Just that it was closer than you acknowledged.
@dombknowing@SeizeTheNae Just use AI. It can help you not look a fool. s, “Tyler Hansbrough frequently faced double and triple teams. Because of his relentless inside scoring, dominant rebounding, and physical style of play, opposing coaches regularly designed defensive schemes to collapse on him”
@dombknowing@SeizeTheNae Zero ball knowledge, eh? Not having all Americans doesn’t mean he was the sole focus or the only option, just means he was double and triple teamed and still performed. Look at the tape. To be clear, 4 ppg (25% more) and 1.5 boards (20%) isn’t “barely.” It’s significantly better.
@dombknowing@SeizeTheNae Laetner played beside 3 other 1st team all-Americans (Ferry, Hurley, Hill) on his four years at Duke. Hansborough played with no other 1st team All-Americans and still won a title.
@dombknowing@SeizeTheNae Laetner career avg 16.6 points, 7.8 rebounds. Ranks 3rd all-time at Duke in scoring (2,460 points) and total rebounds (1,149). Only player in history to start in 4 consecutive Final Fours, but that could be considered more of a team accomplishment.
@dombknowing@Belicheckburner Won the same number of titles as dook. Literally, you don’t go to the tournament to get to the final four. You go to win a title, anything else is a failure. Period.
@CollinDunl79294@Bill_beli_@MattAblesBurner Luka wasn’t used in the right way. Expect him to look like Cade looked this season after transferring to a coach who knows how to put guys in a position to succeed.
@DukeJay_@CLTBlueDevil That’s not the flex it used to be. Especially on an awful team. 14 players did it this year. Bam Adebayu scored 83, Maxey scored 54, Markkkanen scored 51, Reaves scored 51… etc. none of those guys would go number 1 in this draft. Three guys went for 50 twice.
