Health care is more expensive in MN today because of Trump and the GOP.
Today's rate announcements show 50% or more increases for many in MN because the GOP let the federal tax credits expire.
Minnesotans will pay more so the GOP could give tax breaks to billionaires.
We won’t let the conversation around gun violence go away.
I’m committed to passing legislation that meets the expectations of Minnesotans.
Our offer to Republicans addresses mental health, school safety, support for law enforcement, and most importantly, common sense gun laws.
The DFL special session offer includes taking meaningful action on guns.
Eliminating weapons of war and high capacity magazines will make MN safer.
Is the GOP willing to take the vote and show MN where they stand?
Democrats are ready to act and Minnesotans want action.

If Dems attended the first day of session without an agreement, GOP would have kicked out Rep. Tabke, and seized control of the House for two years.
This power sharing agreement protects the voters of Shakopee and the voters of Minnesota who sent a tie to the House.
President Trump just shut off funding for law enforcement, farmers, schools, veterans, and health care.
We are working diligently to reverse this, but we are preparing for every outcome to help Minnesotans weather this storm.
Minnesota needs answers. We’ll see Trump in court.
Trump's funding freeze is impacting:
- law enforcement grants
- meals for seniors
- cancer research
- health centers
- Head Start
- rental assistance
- college aid
Minnesotans of all political backgrounds should be outraged. This hurts all Minnesotans.
House DFL Floor Leader Jamie Long:
“This decision from the Supreme Court confirms how incredibly out of line Minnesota Republicans have been in their crusade to throw out an election and seize control of the House for two years. Minnesotans value free and fair elections. It would be an appalling and unprecedented abuse of power to throw out an election and disenfranchise the 22,000 Minnesotans who voted in Shakopee in November, but that’s exactly what Republicans are prepared to do. The people of Shakopee deserve to decide who represents them, not 67 Republican politicians in Saint Paul.”
Come join our legislative delegation next week for a Pre-Session Senate District 61 Town Hall!
Details: Tuesday, January 7th from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Loring Community Arts Center (1382 Willow St, Minneapolis, MN 55403)
Thank you to all the candidates for running great campaigns, pushing for our DFL values, and engaging with DFLers all throughout the district these past months. Now, onward to November!
Congratulations to @KatieJonesMpls for winning the DFL primary for 61A last night! Katie is an engineer, climate activist, and community leader who has been a strong advocate for climate action at the City and State level, and we know she'll continue that work as a state rep.
Primary Election Tuesday – Get out and Vote!
Tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13 is Primary Day in Minnesota. It’s critical that you get out and make your voice heard. Find information about where to vote, who’s on your ballot, and same-day voter registration information @MNSecofState
In 61A, we also have an important DFL Primary on the ballot, deciding who will represent that seat after the retirement of the fantastic Frank Hornstein. At our DFL convention in March, no candidate reached the threshold for endorsement.
