We are officially 1 week into the war on Iran. Fertilizer markets have seen fundamental shifts to prices and supplies.
The most important thing farmers can do: TALK TO YOUR LOCAL SUPPLIER.
Global markets matter but more important is your local marketplace.
@realDonaldTrump and @SecRollins
The situation in the Middle East could not make a stronger case for more nitrogen fertilizer production in the U.S..
We are highly reliant on imports for our nitrogen needs. We can produce this here at home.
American farmers need help.
Updated fertilizer/corn ratio charts are...not looking good. For this week of the year:
Urea - 3rd highest/worst in history
UAN - 2nd highest/worst in history
DAP - highest in history
Potash - STILL SOLID
Good thing the U.S. gov't has provided loans for increased...potash.
Let me start by saying that NH3 is not cheap.
However, NH3 is currently well priced vs urea and UAN.
If you are going to need/use NH3 this spring (at least preplant), it is worth a conversation. Starting to feel like just a matter of time before NH3 reacts...higher.

Remember that high grain prices are great, but it does not always make for a better marketing situation:
Early 2022
Urea was $910 / corn $7.49
Took 121 bushels of corn to pay for a ton of urea
Today
Urea is $375 and corn $4.22
Takes 89 bushels
Today costs 32 bushels less.
Unpopular opinion: don’t have a keg at your wedding unless someone in the crowd actually knows how to tap it. Otherwise you’ve just got a shiny, untouchable centerpiece! 😂
