I spent years fixing my acne… turns out I was doing too much .
For a long time, I just thought my skin was hard to deal with.
Every breakout made me think I needed to do more, so I kept piling on products. At one point I was using an exfoliating toner twice a day, an acne cleanser, retinol, and a spot treatment.
It didn’t help. If anything, my skin got worse.
What made it so frustrating was that a product would seem fine for a few days, then my skin would get irritated again. Tight, shiny, covered in little bumps. I thought I just had stubborn acne.
A few weeks ago I started reading about damaged skin barriers and realized I might have been going too hard on my skin. So I cut my routine down almost completely and tried a few gentler products I found through a skincare.
But after sticking with a simple routine for a couple of weeks, my skin finally calmed down more than it had in months. It’s not perfect, but it’s a lot less irritated.
It’s frustrating to realize I spent years trying to solve a problem I was making worse.
Has anyone else dealt with this?
My face is as soft and fresh like a baby yansh naw💃🤗
“Yeah, I did the BBL, so what? I wanted that shape and I got it, period… but my face? never touched it, not once… no facial surgeries, no fillers, none of that. This beauty is natural. I just got richer and finer. Haters who ain’t on my level stay mad about it.”
