@swanny Apologies, I did not realise you were the same person since your Twitter/X handle is different from the LinkedIn post, hence the third person reference. Again, I did not intend to be rude.
I was the QA hiring manager in my last role, I was instructed to only hire auto people.
@swanny@sophiearumble I work in the same field and approx 95%+ of what I do involves automation (coding). She might be great in other ways but she is completely ignoring what the industry wants and will only be suitable for extremely niche (and lower paid), junior or hand-off mgmt roles.
@DrProudman This has happened to me once - was at dinner at a Michelin star restaurant here in the UK in 2018. Sat down with the menus, then swapped places with my mother since I am left-handed and only then realised the menus were different. I do not know if they still do this.
@PrivChaffinch Def agree. If you're in London, all should visit the Vagina Museum, current exhibition is all about periods. Coincidentally I was there last night for a special event
@girlwithredhurr There's a lot of science behind this, not quite a simple as the options you've given. Check out Giles Yeo and Tim Spector: not all calories are equal, everyone is different, microbiome and blood sugar.
@yoghurteater When you are evaluating others that's correct. When I look at myself I'm pretty good but also working every day to be better for tomorrow: stronger, faster, kinder, humble, worthy etc.
@datingisdumbbl1 Yes, I don't tell my mum any bad news until I've sorted it out already - she worried enough when I was young. Recently got made redundant - I only told her when I got a new job. I hope all is ok with you.
@aDatingDad My first uni: it was awesome and it was the peak at the time, first time away from home and first love etc. Looking back now, nope and I'm at my third uni atm. Plenty of things still not together so hoping the peak still to come.
@alexvtunzelmann Agreed except for one: Why We Sleep by Matthew Walker - it's not self help, lifestyle or mindset etc. It's a proper science book by a real academic - an engaging read on an important topic - definitely recommend. The rest can all go in the bin, esp JP's 12 Rules.
@gemisinlondon I always look forward to doing mine - tax relief on non-work pension and charity donations. Always feels good to get money back from the government.
@PublicChaffinch I've read a couple of Flashman books. Anyone using that handle is probably trying to communicate something by it. I doubt we would get along. Hope it's parody but on this site I doubt it.
@floschechter@fesshole Nope, I do self assessment to claim tax relief on non-work pension contributions, charity donations (Vagina Museum included!) and professional subscriptions. And no, I don't earn over 100k - it's not just for the super high earners.
@Dawni_Q @7teensecs I'm from a very working class background. My mum worked hard so I could get to uni. I've worked hard and still grinding at it so my kids can have the best but I'll be making sure they understand what it's like. These kids have it great but someone worked hard to make it for them.
