For the past four years, I’ve been fighting for a better future for Ottawa residents. At a time of rising costs and economic uncertainty, I believe we must keep property taxes low while investing significantly in the priorities that matter most to you: policing, paramedics, and public safety, better public transit, fixing and expanding our roads to ease congestion, and building more community infrastructure.

But not everyone agrees. Some of my opponents believe that you should pay much higher taxes, that we are investing too much in policing, or that we should make it harder for drivers to get around the city.

This is a critical time for our city. We can't afford a U-turn toward higher taxes, more congestion, and divisive ideology. We must remain focused on building a stronger Ottawa, together.

Depuis quatre ans, je me bats pour offrir un avenir meilleur aux résidents d’Ottawa. En cette période de hausse des coûts et d’incertitude économique, je crois fermement que nous devons maintenir les impôts fonciers à un niveau bas, tout en investissant massivement dans les priorités qui comptent le plus pour vous : la police, les ambulanciers et la sécurité publique, un meilleur réseau de transport en commun, la réparation et l'élargissement de nos routes pour réduire la congestion, et la construction d'infrastructures communautaires supplémentaires.

Mais tout le monde ne partage pas cette vision. Certains de mes adversaires estiment que vous devriez payer des impôts beaucoup plus élevés, que nous investissons trop dans les services de police, ou qu'il faudrait compliquer la vie des automobilistes qui tentent de circuler en ville.

Notre ville traverse un moment crucial. Nous n'avons pas les moyens de faire un virage à 180 degrés vers des taxes plus élevées, davantage d'embouteillages et une idéologie qui divise. Nous devons rester déterminés à bâtir une ville d’Ottawa plus forte, ensemble.

I have some very good news to share about the 417. Unless the weather interferes, all lanes of the 417 near Pinecrest will reopen in just over a week, on Monday, June 22. That’s more than five weeks ahead of the original timetable.

I know how frustrating it’s been for drivers in the west end due to lane closures and construction. I asked for the project to be significantly accelerated so we could reduce disruption and get relief for commuters as quickly as possible. I’m pleased to see staff have followed through on my request.

To accelerate the work, there will be some overnight lane reductions next weekend. These are the final steps necessary to get the work done. If the weather is a factor, the work may be delayed to the following weekend but so far it’s looking good.

Ottawa has been buzzing with activity these past few days, and it’s been great to see so many residents out enjoying the warmer weather. I had the opportunity to support volunteers helping local shelters, celebrate the opening of the Ottawa Chinatown Night Market, recognize Asian Heritage Month with Ottawa’s Vietnamese community, cheer on young athletes at the Nepean Junior Fest, and connect with residents and local producers at the Lansdowne Farmers’ Market.

Ottawa était particulièrement animé ces derniers jours, et ce fut un plaisir de voir autant de résidents profiter enfin du beau temps. J’ai eu l’occasion de remercier des bénévoles qui soutiennent les refuges locaux, de participer à l’ouverture du Marché de nuit du quartier chinois d’Ottawa, de souligner le Mois du patrimoine asiatique avec la communauté vietnamienne d’Ottawa, d’encourager les jeunes athlètes au Nepean Junior Fest et d’échanger avec des résidents et des producteurs locaux au Marché fermier de Lansdowne.

In Ottawa, we are saying YES to housing.

While many other cities have seen steep declines in housing starts, our housing starts were up 38% in 2025.

A quarter of all rentals built in Ontario last year were built right here in Ottawa.

And since 2023, we’ve put industry in a position to build roughly 70,000 new homes in Ottawa.

À Ottawa, nous disons OUI au logement.

Alors que plusieurs autres villes ont connu une forte baisse des mises en chantier, celles-ci ont augmenté de 38 % à Ottawa en 2025.

Le quart de tous les logements locatifs construits en Ontario l’an dernier l’ont été ici même, à Ottawa.

We must continue to work hard to build more homes and keep the dream of home ownership alive in Ottawa.

Today's announcement from the federal and provincial governments commits $8.8 billion to infrastructure projects in Ontario. I'll be working hard to ensure Ottawa gets our fair share of this funding, to pay for the critical infrastructure we need, and to unlock thousands of new homes for construction.

June is Pride Month, a time to recognize and celebrate Ottawa’s 2SLGBTQQIA+ community and the many people who help shape a city where everyone can live openly and authentically. Pride is also a reminder that belonging is something we have to protect and strengthen every day. Across Ottawa, residents, organizations, and community leaders continue to do important work to make our city safer, more welcoming, and more inclusive for everyone. This month, I encourage you to take part in Pride events, support local organizations, and stand with the people who continue to move this work forward in our city.

Le mois de juin est le Mois de la fierté, une occasion de rendre hommage à la communauté 2SLGBTQQIA+ d’Ottawa et aux nombreuses personnes qui contribuent à façonner une ville où chacun peut vivre ouvertement et en toute authenticité. La fierté nous rappelle également que le sentiment d’appartenance est quelque chose que nous devons protéger et renforcer chaque jour. Partout à Ottawa, les résidents, les organisations et les leaders communautaires continuent de faire un travail important pour rendre notre ville plus sécuritaire, plus accueillante et plus inclusive pour tous. Over the last four years, we’ve worked very hard to protect affordability with the lowest tax increases of any major city in Canada. At the same time, we've made historic investments into priorities that matter most to Ottawa residents, including safer neighbourhoods, more reliable transit, and better roads and sidewalks. I’m incredibly grateful for the support of our community. Together, we raised more than $117,000 for the End Youth Homelessness in Ottawa by 2030 Fund.

Thank you to everyone who contributed, cheered on, and joined me across the finish line this morning, including our youth. It was an incredible moment.
