A summary of Labours response to yesterdays election results.
Disabled person: I didn't vote Labour because they are cutting the benefits I need to survive.
Labour: We're listening. We need to go further and faster.
Much like the people of Runcorn and across the country. I couldn’t vote for Labour when they are picking on the most vulnerable in the country like those claiming PIP #DisabilityBenefits
I stood up to those who use disabled people as an easy target. You want my vote? Earn it!
People think that when you become disabled, help magically appears
Financial aid, in home support, specialized medical care … the non disabled act as though these things fall in our laps
Most of the time we have to fight for every tiny bit of help…and it’s almost never enough
"Working People"
It's really bothering me. Exclusionary of sick and disabled people, carers, parents.
We need to make life people for *EVERYONE* - Because that is how a society prospers.
Ah but it is okay Dr Watts. Because taking away benefits will suddenly make all those medical issues magically disappear and they will be able to work again! 🪄✨
I for one cannot wait for this magical transformation to occur and I can suddenly get out of bed and not be in pain
LCWRA claimants have been medically assessed as unable to work.

LCWRA claimants have been medically assessed as unable to work.
Also note that the Chancellor constantly using the term “Working People” in her statement clearly enhancing the divide that anyone who doesn’t work is not deserving of their support. It is rhetoric that further divides us

You were not elected to DOUBLE the #DisabilityBenefits cuts the Tories had proposed. You were not elected to go after those medically assessed as at ‘substantial risk’. You were not elected to try to redefine mental health as a less legitimate disability. #WelfareNotWarfare
We will not stay silent as benefits are cut, public services are slashed, & our rights are eroded. If you want to join us in the fight, you're in the right place!

Do you know what's horrendous about suffering chronic illness & disability? It's not just the pain, discomfort, sleepless nights, reduced life capacity..... It's being used as a dog to kick by your own government when you're struggling the most.
#Inhumane#WelfareNotWarfare
I said it at the Budget and I will say it again. Disabled people are being demonised with language like “Handouts” are being scapegoated as a problem for the economy.
People with disabilities need to be treated with respect.

I’m absolutely disgusted that @Keir_Starmer and @RachelReevesMP allowed @RishiSunak to DEMONIZE and SCAPEGOAT disabled people today for the state of the economy. Health Conditions are NOT choices. Stop taking the easy way out on innocent people #Budget2024

YEEEESSSSSSSSS! SHE HAS GONE! Thank god for that…if Marvin went instead of Nella, I think I would have put a boot through the TV #ImACeleb Now for Sam or Fred to win 🤞
For those that don’t know, I have severe anxiety disorder and the person on the phone was absolutely incredible. 10/10 service from them and my taxi driver ❤️
I’ve got to shout out @Motability@MotabilityOps@MotabilityPress Scheme for their amazing service. I broke down the other day (ran out of battery because it does NOT do 35 miles range like the manufacturers @TGAmobility Mobility say, more like half that).
One quick tap of the Motability Assist app and they called me straight away to say they had sent a wheelchair accessible taxi from @Blacktaxtaxis to my location to pick me and my scooter up and the person on the phone was amazing.
