@profgalloway There is, for the "average" Japanese person going about their day, there's NO need to worry about anything like school shootings, etc ever happening. Here? It's more or less in our daily consciousness. Something needs to be done.
@profgalloway Yep. Lived there for many years and it's a very, very easy place to "get spoiled" in. It's one of the reasons why (some) Japanese tourists may tend to be a bit naive about certain things. (Walking around with a big wad of cash, and on and on.)
