@Sassafrass_84 Brilliant idea!
It would be a perfect venue for him to sing "Arlington," to remind us all how we are here. And free.
The @opry has many remarkable patriots among its ranks.
@GlitchedDeals Here, BJs IS a glitch. Order online, they accept the payment, hold the money for a while, then eventually say, "Unable to deliver."
BJs is worthless. Even if they'd GIVE AWAY TVs, I'd skip it.
@JordanBrace8 Jordan, my thanks to the crazy / bot! It got you to post pictures and that's always good.
An AI might be hallucinating, "She is too pretty. NO human is that pretty!"
You are, as always, an absolute delight.
Thanks!
@JordanBrace8@SteveHiltonx@MichaelGatesESQ Good! Jordan, you are helping to make your state back to what we expected it to be decades ago! All the "Golden State" stuff. Even an old TV series "Californians."
I saw only SF & LA, but was told that most of the State was different, good honest people.
Make it good again!
@thomas_garrard Oh yeah. I'm into voices. Decades of radio and audio work can do that to a person. Other marvelous voices: Sam Elliott, Bill Cobbs, Sen. Everett M. Dirksen, Dick Summer.
Old recordings, Sen. Dirksen's popular "Gallant Men" should be played every 4th.
@BuzzPatterson Bit unrelated, but do you recognize aircraft by their sound? I never got closer than "jet," "not jet" and "helicopter" until I got to brief an AirForce General on our jobsite. New Years Day. Inside, with blowers running, he said, "F-4 overhead." He made me learn and listen.
@thomas_garrard Never been there, but yes ... places "feel" different. Wake Island, Oahu, Luzon, Nha Trang, all water but all feel different. Bangkok vs Manila, Chicago vs WashDC. Not the sights, the ... feeling.
Note that @jockowillink discussed looking into the face of Evil. It ... is.
@carlypearce@opry Li'l lady, I'm very impressed! You followed me, long time ago in a different account (I wuz disallowed forever) and I've listened ever since. You or Laurin Alaina = lady version of Toby Keith? There's void. We need another Toby. Thanks for your happiness.
@thomas_garrard You're American.
You have absolutely EVERYWHERE to go!
As my li'l brother and I used to do, drive around with the windows open, radio turned to max ... play opera or classical stuff.
@JordanBrace8 Jordan, I wish you could've met James N. "Nick" Rowe. He was about the most humble & polite guy I ever met. In "Country Team" meetings, the U.S. Ambassador would call us, "Bill? Jim? Ed?" for comments. Then, "Col. Rowe? Sir, any remarks for us?"
Hope you read his book. Hero.
@thomas_garrard Bro', I'm old. My parents were even older (oddly enough.) They had OLD school books, maybe their parents' or older siblings. I'm not sure College kids would pass the old 3rd grade. HARD STUFF!
Also, old Civil War diaries & stuff ... PVTs quoting ancient Greek stuff. Geesh.
@JordanBrace8@LeoNaranjoIV As we have seen, people can be more evil than they appear. Old TV show said, "Trust No One" and that may be correct, as much as it hurts. Trust = earned.
Sorry you had to experience so much [military language deleted.]
With hugs & tears,
@Arkypatriot Ma'am, some of us kinda cuss a lot, especially when we are alone. We also judge "leadership" on its merits, and did even before we met @jockowillink and his podcasts. Check gig line. Brasso that buckle. Spit shine!
But most: I miss SOS. The civi kind is close, but ...
@thomas_garrard Nothin' more American than fist fighting neighbors!
Fireworks were cool, too, until we started getting them all from Red China or Canada or such. And the factories in Ohio kept blowing up.
Fireworks = illegal. Americans = oh, yeah?"
Punch a neighbor for me, Bro'!
