When governance becomes overwhelmed by multiple fronts of confrontation including politics, security, economy, and major institutions, reform momentum can suffer.
Prioritization and strategic focus may be key to sustaining meaningful reforms.
The Nigerian government appears to be fighting too many battles at once; battles that risk distracting it from its core reform agenda.
Some of these battles include:
- The ongoing political rift involving El-Rufai
- The controversy over proposed tax reforms
- The political effort to reclaim the FCT from opposition dominance
- And finally, the struggle to retain power in 2027.
- The controversy surrounding the Electoral Act, particularly the debate over real-time transmission of results
- The persistent insecurity challenges involving IS$AP and Bo$o Har$m
- Recurrent national grid collapses and power instability

@MTNNG has shut down network in parts of Abuja. Areas affected are Ushafa, Peyi, Jigo, Pambara, War college and the DSS training institute in the Bwari Area Council. Subscribers are currently stranded. This is almost 24 hours since the shutdown .
@MTNNG has shut down network in parts of Bwari Area Council of Abuja including Ushafa, @OfficialDSSNG Training Institute, @NigeriaArmy_ war college, part of Dutse etc. No explanation yet. People are stranded.
It’s looking like the chorus will soon change from #FREEVDMNOW to free Nigerians. Better to act quickly to de-escalate the current situation. #FREEVDMNOW
My demands are:
1. @flyairpeace Airpeace should apologize to me officially for deliberately cancelling my flight.
2. Refund my money without further delays
3. Refund my 2023 expenses in Gombe over their ineptitude and professional handling of customers. @fccpcnigeria
On the rescheduled date, airpeace claimed the airplane could not land over poor visibility and returned to Abuja. I was stranded at the Gombe isolated airport as it was already late to return to my hotel. It was 11pm. I had to hire a taxi. @flyairpeace@fccpcnigeria
This is similar to what the @flyairpeace did to me in 2023 in Gombe State. I had travelled to Biu, Borno State and I was to fly via the airline to Abuja. My flight was to take off from Gombe airport. Airpeace shifted the flight for extra 3 days. @fccpcnigeria
@flyAirpeace had earlier claimed it did not see my mail, but immediately after engaging them on phone, they replied same mail they claimed they didn’t see. Since then, it has been back and forth. Till date, my money has not been refunded. @fccpcnigeria
I was provided an email address to request for a refund when I called the customer care. Unfortunately, for 12 days now, my money has not been refunded. Each time I call, it’s same story. @flyairpeace@fccpcnigeria
@flyairpeace did not call me to apologize apart from the text message. They did not also care about the damage the cancellation caused me. I lost money and relationship. @fccpcnigeria
I can’t wrap my head around what that means. How a maintenance can be unscheduled is beyond me. Sounds like a defensive language. This language is almost becoming a cliche. @flyairpeace@fccpcnigeria
