HBCU Alum, Cloud Enthusiast, Gooner for as long as I could remember and passionate about Global Affairs with a strong leftist tilt. My opinions are my own....
Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo.: “The establishment Democratic Party is a failed enterprise… It is so hard to lose two general elections to Donald Trump. In political terms, to imagine a worse failure than losing two national elections to DT.” Via @LeverNews
@nigel_b_golf VG is a litmus test for ball knowledge. Increasingly tribalism and fandom supersede most elements of critical thinking.
This goes to such an extent that they’d rather die in their hill than change their mind or perspective when it is clear as day they’re wrong…
Someone needs to do a Sociology PhD dissertation on Nigerian love for Gyokeres. We need to understand this on an academic, peer reviewed level. I need primary sources, appendices, and real depth
Ossoff: This week we were warned again of existential risk to the human species. Did you see it? And what fills us with dread is the crushing weakness of our politics against the massive stakes of our times.
Tech titans dig bunkers while warning us the new intelligence they're creating risks human extinction. Congress debates youth sports, and the president builds a ballroom. An ancient establishment, barely capable of email, sleepwalks into a technological revolution, while the president dismantles precautions and calls us fools for worrying.
Just listen to this: On day one, Donald Trump rescinded the AI safety order meant to guard against catastrophic risks, including the engineering of bioweapons.
Meanwhile, Don Jr.'s 1789 Capital bought big money stakes in data centers and AI labs. Four days before inauguration, the Emirati spy chief committed $500 million to the Trump family crypto business, and four months later, the Trump administration granted the Emirates the rights to buy our most sensitive AI chips.
No country on Earth assimilates better than America. These are football obsessed 2nd gen immigrant kids wearing cowboy hats, crushing beers, throwing up horns, and celebrating one of the greatest comebacks in school history.
THIS is why America rules the world.
The US Open got a little taste of HBCU homecoming.
Taylor Townsend hit the court at the US Open in a custom tennis look inspired by HBCU marching band and majorette culture. The fit deserves a round of applause but the HBCU pride didn’t stop at the baseline.
The 6th annual HBCU Live brought the culture to Queens, NY with Morgan State’s Magnificent Marching Machine taking over the grounds, HBCU DJs on the ones and twos and alumni and supporters repping their schools throughout the day.
Center court looked a lot like the Yard, and we love to see it.
They were talking about “beating Arsenal will change the trajectory of our project”
Now its “we put up a fight against the Champions, I see positives”
We are THE STANDARD.
6/8 - What this really means is the centre in BC is being rebuilt right now, and it's being rebuilt by people who sign paycheques rather than press releases. They're not interested in the culture war. They want a province that works. #bcpoli#cdnpoli
@MillamoTbone I don’t view this as a bad thing at all. What’s wrong with rationalising? What’s wrong with trying to consider what the evidence was at the time a decision was made absenting hindsight? Doesn’t mean I always think the right call was made, but context is ALWAYS important.
