@ghosthecklers@DuszaLukasz@jonfitchdotnet Regulate:
Definition 1 - To restrict with rules.
Definition 2 - To keep in good working order.
Which definition goes with the phrase "shall not be infringed". Hint, it's NOT the first definition.
The Bereans didn’t believe in Sola Scriptura nor were they praised for going to check and see if Paul’s arguments related to the OT were present in the text as he said they were. The Bereans went to the synagogue to had the texts read and expounded to them, they didn’t individually do so. In fact some of those praised literally were not allowed to read them (Gentile women). They were praised for their acceptance of Paul’s preaching rather than the chaos of those who rejected it.
In today’s terms, it would be like if I said God says in three places in the NT to confess to God with a presbyter present to hear the confession and a Baptist goes “Chapter and Verse!” because they aren’t familiar with the texts.
@BloodstainLane7 Interesting - two of the four names you gave aren’t prophets, one wasn’t a scribe, and none of that tells us who infallibly identified the inspired books. 🙃
You sure about that? Because last I checked those Churches Saint Paul sent those Epistles to preceded the actual Epistles and one of them went to the Church in Rome.
You know, where Our Lord tells Saint Paul to go after his trial in Jerusalem.
And all the Inspired Books of the NT were written by clergy of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.

(2) Questions
Essay Style
The One True Church and Faith not only preexisted the Canonization of Christian Scripture by Centuries it also preexisted the drafting of the New Testament Gospels and Epistles by decades.
Here’s a series of questions below. Any one of these questions that elicits a “yes” is sufficient to prove my contention.
(1) What year did Jesus Christ Ascend and when were the first and last of the 27 Books of the New Testament Canon drafted? Did Christ’s Ascension precede the publication of the NT Gospels and Epistles?
(2) What year was the Acts of the Apostles completed? Was it prior to the completion of other NT Books?
(3) Did the Ekklesia Kata Holos (referenced in Acts 9:31) necessarily preexist the completion of the Acts of the Apostles?
(4) Did the Council of Jerusalem necessarily precede the completion of the Acts of the Apostles?
(5) Was Saint Stephen a Deacon and Martyr of the Church before Acts of the Apostles was completed? Was Saint Stephen martyred prior to the Conversion of Saul of Tarsus?
(6) Did the Church(es) at Rome necessarily precede Paul’s Epistle to the Romans?
(7) Did the Church at Thessalonica necessarily precede Paul’s Epistle to the Thessalonians?
(8) Did the Church at Galatia necessarily precede Paul’s Epistle to the Galatians?
(9) Did the Church at Corinth necessarily precede Paul’s Epistles to the Corinthians?
(10) Did the Church at Ephesus necessarily precede Paul’s Epistle to the Ephesians?
(11) Did the Church at Phillipi necessarily precede Paul’s Epistle to the Philippians?
(12) Did the Church at Colossae necessarily precede Paul’s Epistle to the Colossians?
(13) Where can we find the definitive Table of Contents for the Bible within Scripture?
I could go on but you get the drift.
We hold that Scripture is the Inspired Word of God but that the Church is likewise His inspired Church.
Christ had a reason for creating the Church before He ascended and leaving that Church to write the Scripture rather than the other way around.
#CatholicX
@LizzieMarbach I've come to realize Prot slop Lizzies on X deceptively strawman EO and Catholics because it's necessary for them to desperately prove their theology otherwise they are in open rebellion against Christ.
@LizzieMarbach Lmao your argument lacks charity, credibility and biblical grounding.
Idolatry requires intention, none of these practices fall under that.
@BibleInContext1 Again, you assume that truth claims have to produce a perfect outcomes for them to be true. By that measurement Protestantism is false because of numerous atrocities committed by Protestants, such as Salem witch trials and American slavery.
@BloodstainLane7@TheBasedTrinity Show me where Christ said to write scripture
And the question why is the answer given. Because Jesus gave authority to His Church and to noone else.
And yes, I can say “because the Church said so” because most believers never had access to scripture for centuries. So yeah.
@BloodstainLane7@TheBasedTrinity So a fallible Church declared which letters were inspired. Got it.
You folks can never answer the “problem” of the canon no matter how hard you try.
Better luck next time though
@ShortTurdStox@BloodstainLane7 He could join the club if he actually wanted to.
But that takes setting aside pride and being open to responding to grace.
@BloodstainLane7@TheBasedTrinity We know it’s just too much discipline for you. Having to fast as Jesus commanded. One whole day can be atrocious. And being required to worship every Sunday like God commanded? Who has time for all that. What’s all this zero tolerance for abortion stuff. I mean…inconvenient
@5SolasMissy What was that you said about Paul????
Gal 3:1 You foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you? It was before your eyes that Jesus Christ was publicly exhibited as crucified!
@5SolasMissy They are referring to the fact that Protestants claim to preach the empty cross (implying resurrection) but the empty cross doesn’t show that, the empty tomb does. The crucifix is a visual preaching of Christ crucified.
