West Michigan Friday Night Football is more than just a game—it’s a celebration of community spirit, and the unsung heroes who make it all possible. This week, @BiggbyWMI and The HUGE Show are excited to honor the Jenison High School Marching Band as the Friday Night Heroes!

The Jenison High School Marching Band is no stranger to excellence. They’ve been crowned MCBA State Champions for the past three years, and they’re on the path to their fourth consecutive title in November at Ford Field. Nationally, they’ve also made a name for themselves, securing 3rd and 4th place at the Bands of America National Championships in 2022 and 2023. To top it off, the band was selected as one of only ten schools in the country to perform in the prestigious 97th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade last November.

Under the leadership of David Zamborsky, now in his 23rd year as Director of Bands at Jenison High School, this group of talented students consistently shows what dedication looks like. Zamborsky spoke of the remarkable commitment his students bring to their craft, practicing throughout the summer, on school nights, and over weekends. "These kids give everything they have—not just to the band, but to their academics and other school activities. Many of them graduate at the top of their class and participate in sports, clubs, and other organizations while managing their demanding school and band schedules," Zamborsky said proudly.

Their dedication doesn’t just show in their accolades—it shows every Friday night, when they take the field and electrify the crowd. With their powerful performances, they bring the energy and the atmosphere that transforms the game-day experience. The Jenison High School Marching Band truly embodies the spirit of a Friday Night Hero, creating the noise and the vibe that gets the entire community on its feet.

I know some Dems are in knots over what to say right now, but I do think it's pretty straightforward:

We should oppose political violence in all its forms, whoever it comes from, whoever it targets.

We should oppose leaders who condone political violence.

We should oppose leaders who encourage political violence.

We should oppose leaders who amplify their supporters’ calls for political violence.

We should oppose leaders who say that our military and law enforcement should be able to shoot political protesters, or people who may have illegally crossed our border, or people who are merely suspected of breaking the law.

We should oppose leaders who’ve sent their armed supporters to scare our political representatives into throwing away our votes.

We should oppose leaders who’ve refused to stop political violence even when begged to do so by their own supporters.

We should oppose leaders who say that their supporters who've been convicted of committing political violence should be pardoned.

We should oppose these leaders because democracy can't survive if political violence becomes acceptable, and the only acceptable way to oppose these leaders is by persuading people to vote against them.

Jenison voters will consider a bond proposal tomorrow that would initiate a modernization of our school buildings. If approved, the proposal would provide $117 million at no tax rate increase for voters for a series of district-wide infrastructure updates. Remember to vote!
