It is #BlackHistoryMonth and tomorrow (Friday) morning at 7:10 @CBCKw891, I have a conversation with some members of @ONEKCI's African Heritage Club. The students share what the month means to them, and how they'd like to see it evolve. #BHM
My Food & Nutrition students got quite the treat today! Winner of The Great Canadian Baking Show, Vincent Chan, and finalist, Steve Levitt, joined us this morning to spill the tea on their GCBS challenges and victories. We were so grateful!
Yesterday, I ventured into #Kitchener and #Waterloo to visit six @WRDSB locations. I met with students and staff, and was greeted with such warmth and enthusiasm. I keep learning so much as I go to each site. (1/2)
Over 1000 hands have been placed on our mural by staff and students to honour and recognize the children who attended residential schools, those that did not survive, and those that have yet to be found. #EveryChildMatters#OrangeShirtDay2021
Thank you to everyone that has contributed to our memorial. We continue to mourn and honour the Indigenous child remains that were discovered last month. We have collected over 215 rocks as a reminder that more children have yet to be found. #everychildmatters@wrdsb

We are deeply saddened by the tragic hate-motivated attack that took place in London, ON this weekend. We stand together in grieving this tragedy with the Muslim community and send our condolences to all those who are impacted. #Islamophobia and hate have no place in our society.
215 orange handprints have been placed in the windows of KCI as a way to mourn and honour the Indigenous children whose remains were found last week in Kamloops, BC. We grieve together. And encourage learning and action.
