I refuse to let the familiarity of that miracle make me forget that it is one.

Today is usually an emotional day for my Mother.

Naturally, she tries to conceal it every year and probably thinks I don’t notice. But I do. And truthfully, it has become emotional for me too. The older I get, the more I understand. The more I appreciate the weight she carried, the strength it took, and the quiet sacrifices that shaped my life long before I was old enough to recognize them.

Oh my beloved Mother, if you’re reading this, I hope you know how deeply you’re loved. You walked so that I could run. You gave up pieces of your own story so mine could be written differently. I hope that with every birthday of mine, you’re reminded not of the difficult moments, but of God’s grace. I hope you can look at my life and see that every prayer, every sacrifice, every tear, and every ounce of faith was never in vain. And I hope you’re proud of the man your little boy is becoming.

Happy birthday to us, Mum. This day belongs to you just as much as it belongs to me. ❤️
