TVK went to the Supreme court in November 2025 asking to stop SIR in ten states where the state elections were happening including Tamilnadu.

They also held a public protest against SIR in the same month.

Then in December 2025 they filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court against SIR on how the process is affecting the marginalised voters like Orphans,minorities,migrant workers and newlywed women because of documentation issues and the short period in which SIR was done which affected the BLOs in Tamilnadu.
