Now SIAM writes that "SIAM members are observing a huge increase in the issues in customer vehicle parts & replacement (like Fuel injectiors, Fuel Pump, EGR Valve, exhaust & parts that are in direct contact with fuel or engine emission gases.) Investigation of field failure vehicle parts reveal the failure is due to corrosion or wear caused by high chloride presence which is traced to the fuel (E20) used.

Now what will Nitin Gadkari ji say. Will he apologise to the nation!!

The average efficiency of a petrol internal combustion engine ranges from roughly 25% to 28%. If efficiency drops by 10% relative to that figure, you can expect an overall reduction of about 3% to 4% in the car's efficiency; this is precisely what people are reporting. However, this can easily be mitigated through proper driving habits and adjustments to the timing belt; there is no need to worry about the loss in efficiency. One advantage here is that ethanol acts as an octane booster—functioning as an oxygenate—which improves the engine's combustion quality... The second complaint relates to engine misfiring; this can be easily rectified by adjusting the timing belt to suit the specific fuel being used in the vehicle. The third issue relates to engine corrosion and associated problems. This typically occurs because ethanol is hygroscopic—meaning it absorbs moisture from the atmosphere—especially in humid climates like Mumbai..."

He also says, "This is extremely beneficial to the Indian economy and... The farmers involved in ethanol production are likely to benefit. Foreign exchange, which is a huge amount we spend on the import of crude is allowed to have a significant impact on this as well..."
