"This is Marcus, a Marine Corps veteran who served in Fallujah from 2007 to 2009. Home eight years, he still gets night terrors every single night - waking up screaming three to four times before sunrise. His girlfriend moved into the spare bedroom two years ago out of safety.

His VA therapist recommended a trained PTSD service dog. The waitlist: four years. The cost: $35,000 he didn't have. So six months ago, Marcus adopted Duke, a five-year-old chocolate Lab, from the county shelter - surrendered because his last owner said he was "too needy at night."

The first week Duke came home, Marcus had a 3 AM nightmare. Duke jumped onto the bed unasked and laid his full 90 pounds across Marcus's chest - deep pressure therapy.

Marcus woke up without screaming for the first time in years, found Duke staring at him, and cried holding him.

Now Duke does this automatically, every single night, the moment Marcus shows the first signs. His therapist reviewed the bedroom camera footage and said: "Duke is performing textbook deep pressure therapy for nightmare interruption. That's exactly what we train $35,000 service dogs to do. He's doing it instinctively."

The "too needy" behavior that got Duke returned to the shelter is the exact trait saving Marcus's life every night. One shelter's reject is one veteran's lifeline.

¿Sabías que un ventilador de PC y una tira de luces UV baratas pueden dejar tu terraza sin un solo mosquito en una noche?
Llevo semanas obsesionado con esto y no es magia, es pura física.

Los mosquitos son ciegos al rojo, pero la luz UV entre 365 y 395 nanómetros les parece agua brillando bajo el sol, justo donde ponen sus huevos.

Van directos a ella pensando que encontraron el sitio perfecto para reproducirse.

Aquí viene la parte que casi nadie explica bien: un mosquito vuela a 1,5-2 km/h, así de débil es.

Un ventilador normal de 120 mm mueve el aire a 3-5 km/h.

En cuanto se acerca a la luz, la corriente lo supera y ya no puede volver atrás, mucho menos si el embudo estrecha el flujo y lo acelera (efecto Venturi puro).

Y el detalle que más me sorprendió: la humedad los mata más rápido que cualquier otra cosa.

Por debajo del 40% de humedad, un mosquito se deshidrata en menos de una hora porque pierde agua constantemente a través del exoesqueleto.

Con 30°C de calor, sus huevos eclosionan en solo 4 días, así que el verano juega en su contra si sabes cómo aprovecharlo.

Un consejo importante antes de que lo montes: pon la trampa a 6-10 metros de donde te sientas.

Si la pones cerca, primero los atraes hacia ti y luego hacia la trampa, lo cual tiene poco sentido.

He's Tukaram Mundhe, a 2005-batch IAS from Maharashtra.

Over the last few weeks, you might have heard his name. That is because he was recently appointed Commissioner of State’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Since taking charge, the FDA has been on an absolute warpath, raiding illegal, fake, synthetic, and adulterated products. From synthetic milk networks and adulterated paneer to illegal gutkha and unhygienic eateries, nothing has escaped his radar.

Mundhe has made it clear that even the most famous names will not get a free pass. His department shocked Mumbai by suspending the food licenses of iconic establishments, such as the 73-year-old Marine Drive ice cream parlor K. Rustom & Co., alongside famous eateries like Shalimar Hospitality, Noor Mohammadi Hotel, and Rahmaniya Restaurant, after surprise inspections uncovered severe hygiene violations, including live pests and expired ingredients.

Such is the fear of his crackdowns that, just two days ago, dairy farmers were caught on video spilling hundreds of liters of synthetic milk after rumors of an impending FDA raid spread.

This is his 25th transfer in a 21-year career, a testament to his refusal to bend to political pressure. It makes you wonder: if just one IAS officer can bring about so much change, where would our country be if every bureaucrat were as uncompromising and proactive as him?

म्हणून या हुशार कंपन्यांनी ‘Creme’ लिहून लाखो पालकांना गोंधळात टाकलंय.

टीव्हीवर बिस्किटाभोवती दूध उडताना दाखवतात…

पण सत्य हे आहे की…

त्यात दुधाचा एक थेंबही नसतो!

ती पांढरीशुभ्र मलाई बनते पाम तेल आणि इतर घटकांपासून.

त्यात व्हॅनिला किंवा स्ट्रॉबेरी नसतो…

असतात ते फक्त लाल (Red 40) आणि पिवळे (Yellow 5) रंग.

तुमचं पोरगं एका जागी ५ मिनिटं शांत बसत नाही?

सतत चिडचिड करतं?

किंवा ऐकत नाही?

एका पुड्यातून जवळपास २० ग्रॅम पांढरी साखर पोराच्या छोट्याशा पोटात जाते.

कारण तुमच्या पोरांचा जीव १० रुपयांच्या पुड्यापेक्षा नक्कीच मोलाचा आहे.
